Going home might have been a bad idea. Thinking about it, I probably should have just stayed with Vale. But, I needed time to process what I had been told today. I mean, it's not everyday a gorgeous man tells you, your his soul mate and you're meant to be his forever, and to top that off, be his vampire Princess.

When I told Vale that my dad was gonna kill me I meant it with all seriousness. My dad was not someone to make angry. When he was angry he got physical. I learned that the hard way. Of course, he would never lay a hand on my twin brother. It was always me. Even if it was something as trivial as missing a point on a test. When my brother and I were little, I got the better grades then he did. But, my father would always praise him, and in secret he would punish me for missing questions.

I remember one time in fifth grade, I got a B- on a math test and my brother got C-. When we got home and showed our father, my brother got praised while my father just looked at me and said, "Misaki, follow me, we need to have a conversation." So, I followed him to his private study.

"What is it daddy? Aren't you happy I got a B?" I asked, bouncing up and down. What he said next has stuck with me to this very day.

" Silence you insolent child! You are a disgrace. Bringing home a B-. Disgracing me like that! You need to try harder. I can't have some dumb child running part of my business." he said turning around in his chair facing the window.

"B-But daddy...I got a B-. I tried as best as I could. I even studied all night for the test. And Haro got a lower grade than me. Why am I being pun-" I was stopped by a stinging in my cheek.

My father had slapped me. Tears were running down my face.

"Shut up!! What your brother does has nothing to do with you! Your smart mouth is going to get you in trouble one day. Keep your nose out of things that have no concern to you." I looked at my father, still crying and nodded.

"Now get out of my sight you pathetic child! Tell your brother to come see me." My father said sitting back down in his chair behind his desk.

"Yes father." I said walking out and not looking back. Later that day, I found out that my brother had gotten his own island to own once he grew up for passing his test.

That was the day I realized that my father was a cruel and unjust man. He only kept me to keep face in public as a kind hearted man.

I snapped out of my thoughts as I realized I was approaching my house. I reached the black steel gates of my family's mansion. I figured it'd be best to sneak in and see what was going on first, so I had the car stop about a mile from the estate.

I snuck around to the side that I use to sneak out at night and climb up the fence into the yard. I proceed inside the house and head toward my father's study.

As I got closer I could make out voices from inside. Once I got right outside the door, I could make out the voices of my brother and father. I listened to them conversate. From what I could tell they were talking about me.

"Did they have any news on her?" My father asked my brother, with a monotone voice.

"No father. There has been no word of her, and no one has seen her." My brother said with what I thought was a little bit of worry. Is he worried about me? Aww. I smiled a bit.

"Very well. Tell them to cancel the search. We've already spent too much time looking for her. It's not like we have nothing else to do. We have a company to run." My father said. That brought tears to my eyes. It's only been three days. Did he really not care that much?

"But father? Shouldn't-" our father interrupted him before he would finish his sentence.

"She shouldn't have gotten herself kidnapped. Whatever happened to her, she deserved for being a disobedient child. Now that we don't have to worry about her, you can take on the entire company. Now, you're dismissed. I have business to take care of." My father said.

"Yes father." My brother said. I ran to the corner to hide as he walked out of the study. My brother looked... crestfallen. He...actually cared. He walked toward what I assumed was his room. I followed him, hoping to talk to him. When we reached his room, I snuck in before he could close the door.

"Brother?" He whipped around so fast, I swear he could have gotten whiplash.

"What are you doing here Misaki? You shouldn't be here?" I looked at my brother with scrunched eyebrows.

"What do you mean? I live here, do I not? Do you not want me here as well?" I asked as I got closer to him.

"Father will be angry if he knew you were back. You should leave. Leave and never return." Tears started to well back up in my eyes. Did my family really dislike me that much?

"I- Alright. I'll- I'll leave. I was right...Father does hate me...and apparently so do you." I said turning to leave.

As I was opening the door, I felt arms wrap around my waist.

"It's not like that Miki." He said using the nickname for me he used when we were little. "You know I love you. You're my twin sister. I'd do anything for you. But you know how father is. He thinks you're dead. He's already started telling the media that you are presumed dead. I know you have had it rough with dad, being mentally abusive towards you. But, I feel you will be happier somewhere else. Don't you have a trusted friend from school that you can stay with?" My brother asked, hugging me tight, and then letting go.

"No. People hate me at school, because of who dad is." I said looking down.

"So where will you go then? You really can't stay here. I can give you money to move somewhere nice." My brother said. I was crying without shame now. I couldn't help it. My family was abandoning me at the first chance they got. All I wanted was for dad to love me as his daughter, but all he wanted was to see me dead.

"She will live with me." We both jumped at the sudden voice. We slowly turned around to see who the owner of it was.

There looking at us with a murderous gaze was my Prince charming.

"Vale? What are you doing here?"
