The Surprise (Vale's POV)

I walked over to her and touched her face. She leaned into my palm, closing her eyes.

"You're awake. I'm so glad. I was so worried about you. I thought I had lost you." I said kissing her on the lips.

"Hey, it's ok. I'm fine. You will never lose me." She smiled slightly. I smiled back at her. I pulled up a chair next to her bed, and sat down.

"Are you feeling ok?" I asked, looking her over.

"I'm fine. Just sore. But I have something to tell you." I scrunched up my eyebrows. Those words almost never mean anything good.

"After I'm all better, I want to mate with you." My eyes widened, and a grin stretched on my face. Really.

"You want to complete the mating process?" She nodded.

"If you were well enough, I'd pick you up and swing you around and kiss you. " I said grinning, and laughing slightly.

She giggled, and leaned back against the pillows.

"Oh. I should let you know that Miki has been punished for her crimes. She has been stripped of her rank, demoted to a maid. And once she's trained and learned her lesson, she will be one of your personal maids. Oh! I'm also assigning Asaki and your personal guard." I said rushing through everything in one breath.

"Ok. How is Asaki? She was with me when we were attacked." She said, looking worried.

" Oh yeah. She's fine. A little blood and she was as good as new. You on the other hand, were stabbed by a natural vampire blade." I saw. The news that Asaki was ok seemed to lift her worries.

"A...natural vampire blade? What's that?" She asked, tilting her head. Aww. She looked so cute.

"It's a blade that was made to kill vampires. They are very dangerous. Rarely anyone survives from an injury from them." She nodded. Her eyes started to drop and I could tell she was getting tired.

"Get some rest. I'll come check on you later." She nodded and closed her eyes. I stood up and kissed her forehead.

"Alright. Now to finish that paperwork."
