Abruptly, Akio teriminated the ritual and inspected the room. He recognised the voice but couldn't recall where he had heard it from.
"Who's there." I uttered but it was not loud enough for anyone to hear.
"What's wrong, is your father alright?" My mother asked.
"Father? Oh right I completely forgot about that." I responded. I was so pre-occupied with the voice I heard I forget about father.
"I guess I'll deal with him later..." I whispered
I restarted the ritual, hoping to get this over and done with as quickly as possible so I could investigate what just happened.
"Wait a second....Mother did you not hear that"? I questioned
"Hear what?"
"Him? The voice who had just whispered"
"Akio is something wrong? If you don't feel like completing the ritual it's fine no one is forcing you!"
"No...someone just whispered Suzu. I swear I heard it."
"Suzu? Ah so that's what's going on. Let us call it a night for today, there's always your birthday to try again."
"What are you talking about. You don't believe me do you. You think I'm crazy, of course you do. Your son has a weird power where he can talk to dead people and it's not even- Oh you know what forget it!" I stormed out of the room. I felt bad for shouting at mother when it wasn't even her fault but alas the past is the past. Using this time, I tried to figure out who or what that voice was.

Sara was the first friend I ever made ever since moving here. She's one of the reasons I can tolerate life at the moment. Sara has many friends and yet decides to hang out with me, I really cherish her and our friendship. However I have yet to tell her about my ability and no It's not that I can't trust her per se it's because I'm worried she will think i'm a "freak" and quit being friends with me. You see, for Sara, her social status means the world to her and if I were ever to jeopardise her social life, I don't think I would be able to forgive myself. She has luminous brown eyes that resemble the warmth of the sun. Her skin is a dark brown with cool, jewel undertones and her ever-lasting smile that results in every boy falling to their knees. Her hair is dark black, coarse and frizzy with curls that sway on her shoulders. She really is a sight for sore eyes and her beauty is what people admire about her.
