I proceed to inform Sara about everything that has been going on. Her concerned expression slowly begins to fade away and she bursts out laughing.
"Please- that is the funniest thing I've heard all week!" She laughs
"I'm serious!" I exclaim
"I think I might cry because of all this laughter. I guess you taking some substances was not all an act." She replied, holding her arm against her stomach.
"Hmph." I grunt.
"Akio dear, did you hit your head or something or wait is this the plot of some film you've watched recently?" She asked.
"I did not hit my head and no I'm actually telling the truth honestly!" I explain
"Maybe you should get some rest you seem worn out."
I decided that keeping her out of all of this chaos was for the better.
"You know what, I think you're right goodnight Sara."
"Honestly." She scoffs, " Goodnight Akio."
She switches of the light and exits my room. I sigh as I lay in bed and slowly drift of to sleep. I start reminiscing my childhood...————————————————————————
Akio and Kimura explored the vast and never ending nearby forest. Kimura held Akio's hand and lead him between a group of tall, lofty tree's. Beyond the trees was an astonishingly immense lake that glittered in the evening sunlight. It was peaceful and statue still that you could hear the boys as they took short, staggered breaths exhausted from all the running and climbing. Their clothes were tattered and their bodies were covered in cuts and grazes but they didn't seem to have a single care in the world.
"Suzu, over here!" Kimura guided Akio.
"Wow...it's so beautiful." Akio gasped in amazement
"Promise me that when we're older we will come back here no matter what!""I promise!" Akio exclaims
Kimura smiles as they race each other to the lake.
————————————————————————*alarm goes off*
These vivid images circle my brain as I recollect buried memories of my childhood.
"Crap I over slept!"
Yawning, I stretched my arms and glanced over to my window. The rising sun cast a rosy hue and sunlight poured into my room.
"Morning, Suzu!" A voice whispers.
"Jesus. You know not being able to see you really takes a toll on ones sanity!" I exclaimed still a little stunned
"Precisely. Which is why I need your help. Please I'm begging." Kimura replied distressed.
"It's not like you to beg." I reply
" I hope this will not be an issue for us but the Kimura you once knew is long gone." He warned letting out what seemed to have sounded like a sigh
"Please, can we continue this later, I haven't even been awake for five minutes." I exclaimed mid yawn
"Fine, but I will return before-long. Goodbye."
But before I could even reply, I felt a cold breeze down my back as his presence faded away once again.
I stretched my arms and left my room remembering the fact I still had not fixed things with my mother but to my surprise, the sweet, tempting aroma of my mother's cooking filled the air. However all I could think about was how much of a burden I had been to her recently. A dispute with my mother happens very rarely and the suffocating guilt I felt was intolerable.
"She doesn't deserve this." I thought
Akio's mother, Asami Suzuki was by far one of the most kindest most honest person he had ever met. Her selflessness was unsurpassable and even though wherever she went she carried a sorrowful, wistful look, she never failed to go beyond her own well-being and emphasise with others. Ever since losing her husband, she has been even more determined to make sure Akio lives the best life possible and protect him till her last breath.
"Good morning Akio!" my mother says smiling.
"Mother, I'm sorr-"
"I know...let us forget about these recent events and start fresh." she said
I sighed as this did not make me feel any better, in fact I felt even shittier than before.
"You're not angry?" I asked
"Angry? Don't get me wrong I'm beyond furious but I'm sure you had your reasons. Besides I'm just happy you're able to sit and eat with me." she explains
"Mother I-"
" Also, It isn't very healthy to dwell on the past. Sit down, I made your favourite breakfast!"
Meanwhile somewhere far far away~
"Didn't I tell you to bring the boy back with you?" A man beckons
"I'm trying but Suzu he-" Kimura cries
"Trying, you mean you haven't succeeded yet? Did you explain to him how serious this issue is? That this is literally a matter of life and death? " the man explains
"I didn't get the chance to."
"Chance? He is a 15 year old teenage boy! What could he possibly be doing that restricts you from getting to him."
"I'm sorry sir."
"You know what, you are utterly useless. I might as well retrieve him myself!"
"Wait no. I promise I will bring him back please just give me some time!"
"Three days. You have three days, now get out of my sight!"...
