I wake on Sunday to find Ron already gone. I get out of bed. I walk down to the lake. I see Draco already sitting in our tree.

"Hey, Draco!" I say.

He waves. He looks paler than usual.

"You okay?" I ask. "You look pale."

"I'm always pale." He says reasonably.

"Paler than normal." I correct.

He shakes his head, his soft blonde hair falling in his face. "I'm fine, Harry. Come up here with me."

I hop up into the tree. "Hi."

He laughs. "Hello."

I sigh. "It's nice up here."

He nods. "Yeah, I agree.

I smile. "It's better with you."

He blushes. "Thanks."

I gently punch his arm. "No problem, Draco."

He smirks, his pink lips moving to the side.

I hop down. "Come on, Dragon Boy." I tease.

He jumps down and starts running. "Can't keep up, Potter?"

I grin and run after him. I pass him and then he tackles me. We fall to the ground, wheezing. His hair is everywhere. Our eyes meet. His eyes aren't actually grey. They are really light blue.

"That was fun, Potter." He whispers.

"Yeah." I say gently. "Yeah it was."

His thin fingers touch my cheek. I place my hand in his. He smiles gently. He pulls me up. "Come on, we can't lay here all day."

I smirk. "Of course not."

The next day, I have Potions. I walk slowly to the dungeon. When I get there, Draco is the only one there, not even Snape.

"Hey, Harry." He says. "Finally, someone."

"We're 20 minutes early." I say. "What do expect?"

He nods. "True."

He laces his fingers together on the cold stone desk.

"So..." He says.

"So..." I say.

Draco smirks. "I don't know what to do."

"Me either." I sit down next to him. "Just for now." I say, blushing slightly.

He grins. "Or...for the whole class."

"But Ron doesn't know we're friends." I say

Draco sighs. "I guess that's for the best."

Later, during break, I get a letter from Moony and Paddy.

Hi Harry!

I'm glad you made more friends. Everything is good here, but Ginny misses having a playmate.
Love from,
Moony and Padfoot.

I smile. I miss Ginny too; she was like a little sister. Is, I guess. I set the note down and walk down to the lake. I sigh. I push my glasses farther up my nose. Soon, Draco walks over.

"Hey, Harry." Draco says happily. He sits next to me.

"Hey, Draco." I say, less enthusiastically.

"What's wrong?" He asks, his eyebrows furrowing.

"Nothing." I say. "It's nothing."

Draco's blue eyes flick towards me. "Okay. If you're sure."

"I'm sure." I say finally.

Draco sighs. "So..." He says. "I'm glad we can hang out today."

"Me too." I say. "It's only on break, but you know."

Draco sighs again. "I know. I wish everyone could know we are friends, but it would ruin both of us." He admits.

I frown. "Yeah, you're right." Though, it hurts to agree.

We sit in silence. I check my watch. "I'm late for Potions." I start to get up, but Draco grabs my wrist. "Wait."

I turn to him. "What is it?"

His eyebrows furrow in thinking. "I...nevermind." He lets me go.

"Okay." I say. "If you're sure."

The next Saturday, I find Draco in the hall.

"Hey!" I say. I see he's crying. "Hey, are you okay?"

I sit next to him and put my arm around him.

He sits up and sniffs. "Oh, I'm fine."

"Okay, bad question. What's wrong?" I ask instead.

He closes his eyes, but a tear escapes. "I'm just...I..." He sighs. "Please, it's nothing."

I take my arm off from him. "Seriously, Draco, you can tell me."

Our eyes meet, his shimmering with tears. "No, Harry, no I can't."

He gets up and walks away.

"Draco!" I call after him.

But he ignores me.

That night, I sit by the fire, worrying about Draco. He didn't seem fine. I know he isn't fine. I groan. What do I do about it? I lean back and put my hands over my face. Think! I sit up. I don't know. If he won't talk to me, there's not much I can do.

I lay in bed, later. I'm still worried, but I've resigned myself to not knowing. Draco's fine. He's tough. At least, he will be fine.
