I trained myself to hide the pain, lies and secrets. Another secret was just another color to the façade I painted on my face before Sam came home from work. I was happy being with him, but everything that came along with it was quite overwhelming. However, the more time I spent with him, the more I loved him, and the more I would sacrifice my own happiness for the possibility of ours. Now all there was to do was to prepare myself at the dinner table while waiting for Sam to arrive home.

A few moment later he walked in and shoved off his vest and placed it on the counter. ''Something smells exquisite, '' he said kissing me on the forehead and taking a seat across from me. ''What's wrong?'' he asked as if he could read the thoughts in my head. I couldn't hide now. However, I was rescued from the question by the creature in my stomach causing turmoil. I swiftly ran over to the trash can and braced myself for the urge of substance that was forcing its way out of my mouth.

Sam stroked my head and wrapped his arms around my waist to steady me as the uncontrollable urge flew out of my mouth. ''Blue Eyes are you sick?'' he said leading me back to the table and placing me on top of it preparing to examine me with his doctor bag on the counter.

He quickly listened to my healthy heartbeat and checked for absent abnormalities and I giggled at his frantic and cute concern. He stopped and glanced at me, ''Or perhaps you have gone mad?'' he asked.

''Neither,'' I said grabbing his hand and placing it on my belly. ''I'm pregnant.''

He smiled brightly at me and kissed me on the lips. ''That's wonderful Blue Eyes! Why didn't you tell me?'' he asked placing his hand excitedly on his head and then his heart.

''The midwife confirmed it when she came for a visiting yesterday. I wanted to wait until I missed my next cycle to be sure, but I guess there's no hiding it now,'' I admitted.

He gripped my stomach firmly and kissed it and whispered to the undeveloped being, '' Little Ivian West'' He peered back up at me and said, ''We'll name him after my Great Grandfather, he died when I was just a boy. Don't remember much, but I wish I kinda had knew him. I promise to be here for you, Ivian.''

''How do you know it's a boy?'' I asked.

''Because I know,'' he said and kissed my stomach.

I brushed my fingers through his hair and pulled him by the ears back up to my eye level. ''You have to tell me more about you. I never knew about your Great Grandfather,'' I said.

''Later, but I have a surprise for you too,'' he said stepping in between my legs and lifting my dress.

''And what's that?'' I asked sarcastically as he began to tenderly kiss my neck repeatedly.

''Not just this,'' he said proceeding into my entryway making me gasp for air.

''Than, what is it?'' I asked gripping onto his back to secure and balance myself against the hard and rhythmic thrust between my legs.

''You and I are traveling to New York tomorrow for a three day stay. I have business on the first and the second, but the last day...'' he paused for moment and smiled deviously at me ''Maybe we can find a way to have twins.''

The next day we rode for several hours in the hot July sun until reaching the train station at dawn. My large straw hat and light-colored dress were no help or protection from the heat or my aggravated stomach. We arrived at the train station at sunset and the train did not arrive in New York until dawn of the next day. Spending time away from the estate was like a weight off my shoulders and I had much time to think during the long train ride. Although I was still worried for Teal, Aunt Karen always followed through on her promises and I knew she would be as safe as anyone could be considering her condition and addiction. I forced myself to dissipate myself from the situation and focus on spending quality time with Sam. We were only days away from getting married, and I'd be lying if I said my feet weren't getting a little cold.
