"I'm sorry"

"Hey. Uh Buck. I need you to come over." I said. I was trying to drown out the sobs coming from Rose's room.

"Why? Is everything ok?" Bucky asked. I could hear the concern in his voice.

"Um. No, there is something wrong with Rose. I was just in my room and I woke up to someone crying. She's not ok. Your the only person I could think of to call, I'm worried." I said.

"I'll be right over." Bucky said. I could already hear him shutting his door.

"Ok, thanks Buck." Next thing I know he was running through our front door and into Rose's room.

"Get up."

"I'm tryin to sleep Kass." 

"Go find a job. Seriously, your so ungrateful. Your nothing without me and you know it."

Tears left me eyes as he said that. I know it's true. It just hurt to hear him say that. He knew it too.

"Get up. Seriously, your lazy and worthless."

"I know, I'm getting up. Calm down."

"Don't argue with me."

He slapped me. I knew not to argue. He was just getting on my nerves. That's when I knew I did something wrong. I stood up and smacked him. It was wrong of me to do so. He smacked me even harder. The bruise was instant. The fear instant.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." 

Choking back tears I slowly got up and went to the kitchen.

"Don't walk away from me. Come back here."

I did as he told. He smacked again. And again. I just stood there. In silence. In pain.

I woke up. I didn't scream, I shook and cried. I didn't know what to do. I felt useless. I walked into the bathroom and locked the door. I knew Steve and Mrs. Rodgers could hear me. I heard Steve talking on the phone. Next thing I knew I heard a soft, comforting voice.

"hey, Rose. Can you let me in. Please." Bucky said softly. "Come on doll. Your my sunshine. Please. I want to make sure your ok." he continued with. I could hear the heartbreak in his voice. I went and unlocked the door and slumped back against the wall.

"It's open." I said softly. He rushed into the door and grabbed a hold of me. I instantly broke down at the feel of him. I felt safe. I felt whole. No longer broken. 

"Come on Rose. Let's go to bed." Bucky whispered into my ear.

"Your gonna stay?" I said back.

"If it helps you sleep. Then yes." Bucky said.

He took me back to my bed as I chocked out a soft thank you. I could tell he cared. I craved his touch. Though sometimes I could tell he was upset. It was okay though because he never took his anger out on me.

He softly laid me down in bed and put the covers over me. He jumped in next to me after giving his mom a quick call to explain why he left. He put his arms around me and pulled me close. He gave me a quick kiss and stroked my hair. I laid my head on his chest so I could hear his heartbeat and feel the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed.

"Buck." I said softly hoping he could hear me.

"What's up doll." he said softly back.

"I love you." I said speaking softer that time.

"I love you too." he said also speaking softer.

I leaned up and gave him a kiss. I heard a slight whisper and waited for Bucky to get back. I put my head back down on his chest and hoped I would be able to fall asleep.  And I did. This time staying asleep with no problem.

I had made a call earlier to my mother. I explained what happened. After I jumped into bed with her and laid there for awhile. I had an idea, so I acted on it. I whispered I'd be back to her and got out of bed. I quickly made a phone call and then went and told Steve my idea. He agreed with me. I then went and got permission from Mrs. Rodgers as well. She loved the idea. I did to. My mother was also ok with it.

I jumped back into bed and she put her head back onto my chest and fell asleep. I watched her as she sleep. I wanted her to feel safe. And I believe she did. She looked peaceful. I slowly started to fall to sleep while watching her peacefully. 

I woke up and went to the kitchen to make Rose some breakfast before I told her the surprise I had for her. I left a not in her room so she wouldn't be confused on where I was. She was my sunshine. She always will be. My doll. My lifeline now.

I woke up and didn't see Bucky. It kind a scared me but I saw a note.

I'm in the kitchen Doll. Making you some breakfast.

I walked out to the main room and went and sat on the couch. I didn't really see Bucky but he came up behind me and gave me a hug. He sat down next to me and gave me a kiss.

"Get a room." I heard Steve yell as he was walking to the bathroom.

Me and Bucky pulled away from the kiss with a little chuckle. I could see Bucky wanted to tell me something. Bucky took me into the kitchen and gave me the food he made.

"I have a surprise for you." Bucky said with joy in his eyes. "I'll take you after breakfast to see it."

We finished eating and I went into my room to change into my light blue skirt and pink blouse Bucky had picked out for me at the mall. I put on my flats and walked down the hall.

"You look beautiful." Bucky said with amazement in his eyes.

"Thanks. Let's go lover boy." I said in a flirtatious mood. He grabbed my hand and slowly lead me out of the house and to the cab he had called. We got in and were on our way.
