"Think you got enough?" Steve said as they pulled the last needles out of our arms.

"Any hope of reproducing the program is locked in your genetic code. But without Dr. Erskine, it would take years." Peggy explained.

"He deserved more than this." I said as I finally got down off the examination table.

"If it could only work twice, he'd be proud it was you guys." Peggy said as she was looking down at some papers, finally turning her glance to me and Steve to give us a reassuring smile.

"Colonel Phillips, my committee isdemanding answers." Senator Brandt said. We could hear their conversation as we walked out of the room we were in.

"Great. Why don't we start with howa German spy got a ride to mysecret installation in your car?"  He said to Brandt, Phillips turns to Stark. "What've we got?" Phillips said to Stark.

"Well, speaking modestly, I'm the best mechanical engineer inthe country...But I don't know what's or how it works. We'renowhere near capable of thistechnology." Stark explains to Phillips and Brandt.

"Then who is?" Brandt said questioning him

"Hydra." Phillips said as Brandt looked at him blankly.

"I'm sure you've read our briefings." Phillips said as her turned towards Brandt

"I'm on a number of committees, Colonel." Brandt snapped.

"Hydra is the Nazi deep science division. It's led by Dr. Erskine's first test subject, Johann Schmidt, But he has much bigger ambitions." Peggy said as we continued to walk towards them.

"Hydra's practically a cult. They worship Schmidt, think he's invincible." Phillips said.

"So what are you going to do about it?" Brandt questioned.

"I spoke to the President this morning. As of today, the SSR's being re-tasked." Phillips said.

"Colonel?" Peggy said surprised.

"We're taking the fight to Hydra. Pack your bags, Agent. You, too, Stark. The three of us fly to London tonight." Phillips said.

"Sir? If you're going after Schmidt, We want in." I said as I made a gesture towards Steve.

"You're an experiment. We're sending you to both Alamogordo." Phillips snapped. But only this time I didn't flinch. It was like my fear was gone.

"As what, a lab rat? The serum worked!" I snapped back at him. He looked surprised that I had the courage to stand up for myself. And Steve was to.

"I asked for an army. All I got is you and Steve. And you are not enough." Phillips said after being shocked by my sudden amount of courage.

With all due respect to the Colonel, I think we may be missing the point. I've seen you both in action. More importantly, the country's seen it. Brandt's aide hands over

A COPY OF THE NEW YORK EXAMINER:"NAZI'S IN NEW YORK! MYSTERY MAN AND WOMAN SAVES CHILD!" In the photo, Steve deflects gunfire with a starred car door and Rose is running after the man. "Enlistment lines have been around the block since this hit the news stands. You don't take a soldier, a fearless woman, symbol's like this, and hide them in a lab." Brandt said. I looked over at Steve he looked surprised.

"Kids, do you want to serve yourcountry? On the most importantbattlefield in this war?" Brandt said.

"It's all we want." Steve said after I gave him a little nod of my head.

"Then congratulations. You just gotpromoted." Brandt said as he shook our hands.

When we found out what actually getting promoted was, or at least in our instance. We were upset. They were using us as dolls.
