Also no this is not going to be super predictable BS it's going to be like an actual mission in an actual episode, sorry if it's kinda long.)
The Royal Palace, Vlatava
20:31, May 12th
"Zatanna get out of the way the building's going to blow!"
A deafening sound filled my ears as the windows blew out of the palace, glass shards raining down from on high.
Bright Orange and Yellow flames consumed the building and a plume of grey smoke rose into the sky.
I was hurled back onto the ground next to Wally, Artemis, Kaldur, M'gann and Conner by a massive shockwave that erupted from inside the palace where the explosion was.
"Rob—"
"No, she has to be in there!" I cried, running back towards the charred remains of the palace.
SEVEN HOURS EARLIER
The Cave, Happy Harbor
13:31, May 12th
3rd Person POV:
Batman cleared his throat and pulled up a projection on the board.
"We have intel that Count Vertigo has escaped from prison. The first place we think he would go is—"
"To find Perdita!" Wally exclaimed with a worried look.
Robin snickered, anticipating Batman's unfriendly response to his interruption.
Batman simply glared at Wally and it seemed as though he'd shrunk a few centimetres.
"As I was saying, the first place he'd go is back to Vlatava. It is unlikely he would hatch a plan to kill the Queen at the moment, as he only escaped a day ago and would not have had time to make the proper arrangements, but nonetheless your mission is Recon only. Queen Perdita is hosting a masquerade party to celebrate her birthday tonight. You will be masked at all times. If you spot Vertigo, escort the Queen to safety immediately, otherwise, do not engage."
They all nodded in understanding and headed towards the bioship.
"Nice going baywatch. Lucky Batman doesn't have powers or he would've fried off your eyebrows," Artemis grinned.
"Aw, you know you love me," Wally flashed her a cheesy smile.
After a while of travelling, M'gann said, approaching Vlatavan atmosphere. Putting Bioship into camouflage mode.
M'gann cleared her throat and said,
"Zatanna, if you could do the honours."
Zatanna smiled,
"Egnahc ruo sehtolc otni edareuqsam seitilamrof."
A puff of smoke engulfed them and, upon clearing, revealed each and every person in a masquerade outfit. The boys wore coloured ties and and suits with detailed blazers and Zatanna had a black midi velvet skater dress with stars on it, Artemis a green silk wrap dress and M'gann had on a long yellow gown.
"Hmm, I'm pretty traught right now can't lie," Dick said, looking at his suit.
"Me too dude, this is nice," Wally said.
Zatanna turned around to see Dick staring at her. He'd grown an inch or two in the past few months and his hair had gotten slightly longer and unruly.
She winked at him and he blushed, developing a sudden interest in his shoes.
"Woah babe. You rock my world," Wally said, grinning at Artemis.
She rolled her eyes and turned away from him so he wouldn't see her wide (and poorly concealed) smile.
The ship landed and they stepped out and pulled on their elaborate and colourful masks.
Wally was about to walk onto the path that lead up to the palace before he was jerked back by Dick.
"Woah KF, slow down. How suspicious would it be if seven immaculately dressed people walked out of the woods towards the Queen's Palace?" Dick hissed.
Wally mumbled out some apology as M'gann camouflaged herself and stepped out to see if the coast was clear.
"We're good," she said.
"M'gann, can you set up a telepathic link please," Kaldur said.
M'gann: Telepathic link established.
They all stepped out onto the brick path.
"Aw, my shoes," Zatanna said, frowning at her muddy black heels.
"Naelc ym seohs," she said in a low voice to not be heard and the mud disappeared from her now shiny heels.
The team laughed and started walking up towards the palace.
