Chapter 1

He and Jongsuk both arrived at the murder scene a little too late.  When they approached the policemen standing in front of the yellow tape, they had to ask for their permission, but did not expect the answer they received.

"Hello, my name is Lee Jongsuk and I'm on a serial murder case, can we come back to examine the body?  My assistant Kim Taehyung would like to have a closer look at the scar on the victim's body. " Jongsuk didn't hide anything, just explained the reason for his appearance at the crime scene.

"Sorry, but the body was taken for analysis.  The pathologist will take care of the victim, so if you want to see the body again, you must visit the hospital personally."

"And you know who is the main pathologist in this case?" Taehyung did not give up, he had to find out at least this.

If the victim was dealt with by some friendly pathologist, it was obvious to Taehyung that he would go there trying to examine the body.  It would be even better if Yoongi had not disappeared like this without any sign of life.  Everything had to be even more twisted than anyone would have expected.

"The main pathologist and the only one in this case has been Min Yoongi for two years.  He had a break, but has already returned from vacation. I thought you sergeant should know about this."

Taehyung straightened suddenly as he caught the meaning of the words of the policeman standing in front of him.  Was it true? So why did Yoongi not notify Taehyung when he returned?

It did not help that Jeon Jungkook emerged from behind the policeman, who from the moment he appeared did not hide his disdain for Taehyung and his companion.

"Are you lost?  Please go away as the chief inspector of this case, I am in charge here and I do not want such whistles as you to overwhelm me. Please get away from here."

"We're on our way. I don't pay attention to morons like you. Jongsuk, come on." Taehyung wanted to end the discussion, but Jungkook wouldn't let him, grabbing his wrist as he turned to leave.

"I will not let you solve this case before me, even your pathologist is not what you take him for.  I hope you won't be disappointed when you talk to Yoongi." Jungkook let go of Taehyung and he didn't answer him, wanting to go to the hospital morgue where Yoongi worked as soon as possible.

The boy knew that probably Yoongi would not explain everything to him, and he would answer the whole situation with aggression, but he had to try for the good of the cause.

Jongsuk tried to go quite fast, of course, as much as the speed limit allowed him.  Taehyung was sitting staring at the scenery outside the window, and a lot of information passed through his mind.  Mainly, the boy focused on Yoongi, who probably came back from vacation.

Taehyung was curious what had happened to him during this time.  After all, it was impossible that he just wanted to take a break from this whole thing, since Taehyung could remember, he was pushing everyone to find hard evidence as soon as possible.  In fact, he was no different from Jungkook, but sometimes he was really needed.  It was Taehyung who got the results of pathological examinations even faster than the police, so he did not complain.

"Do you think Yoongi will tell us at least a third of the truth what he was doing during the time when everyone was wondering where he disappeared?" Jongsuk wanted to start a conversation as usual, but Taehyung was not sympathetic to any talks.

"I don't think he'll tell us anything. You know what he is like and that he can keep information hidden even from us.  This is a mystery man. I was thinking that if Yoongi hadn't been in our trio, I would have suspected him of the murders. He has been interested in them since they only started, and he is a pathologist, which means that he is perfect for scarring and would not be afraid to wash the deceased."
