1:1 Three Years Later

Natasha's P.O.V

The jet ride to the helicarrier wasn't to bad. Although, having someone on board who could turn into a green destruction machine did worry me a bit. "Banner, You doing alright?" I asked the man. He was sitting in one of the seats lining the wall of the quinjet. He was nervously wringing his hands. " I'll feel better when we land." He says. I nod my head. Little does he know that we're just going right back up in the air. I sigh. If only Ashton were here. She left 3 weeks ago for a month long mission. These last three years with her have been a dream come true. It took a while for me to get over thinking that it was just a dream and I'd wake up at any moment. But she was here to stay. She was in Brazil, infiltating a drug ring. "ETA 3 minutes, Agent Romanoff." The pilot says. " Roger that." I say. I turn to Banner. " Are you ready?" I ask him. He nods his head and picks up his bag and the folder sitting next to him. The folder holds information on this mission: The situation, The Tesseract, and personel.
We start to descend to the helicarrier. When we touch down, the ramp immediatley opens. The first thing I see when my eyes adjust to the light are people running around, tying down equipment to the deck. I walk out, with Banner right behind me. I go stand by some crates to wait on the other quinjet. Banner migrates further away from me, trying to dodge people. I turn my head when I hear the other quinjet start to land. When the ramp opens, I walk over to see Coulson and a very muscular blond man. Steve Rogers. AKA Captain America. Coulson sees me. "Agent Romanoff, This is Captain Rogers." He says gesturing to the man beside him. I look at him. " Ma'am." The Captain says with a nod. "Hi, They need you on the bridge. Their starting the face-trace." I say. "See you there." Coulson says, walking away. I walk with the Captain to the bridge. "It was quite the buzz around here, finding you in the ice. Thought coulson was going to swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?" I ask the Captain. "Trading cards?" The Captain asks me. I smirk. "They're vintage. He's very proud." I say. We see Banner still awkwardly dodging people. The Captain goes to meet the doctor.
" Romanoff, bring them to the bridge. We're heading up soon." I hear in my ear. I pause and lift my hand to my ear piece. "Copy that." I say. I walk to the guys. "Gentleman, you might want to step inside in a minute. It's going to get a little hard to breath." I say. The engines start up and the guys look around confused. "Is this a submarine?" The Captain asks. "Really? They want me in a submerged, pressurized metal container?" Banner asks sarcasticly. The guys walk to the edge a we start to lift out of the water. "Oh no. This is much worse." Banner says.
We head inside to the bridge as last preperations are being made. I head over to a computer montering Clint and kneel down to look at the screen. When I see him again, I'm gonna punch him. Ashton would have beat his ass for being stupid. But I remind myself that we are dealing with an asguardian. I hear Banner and Fury talking about how to find the Tesseract. "That's not going to find them in time." I say, standing up. "Ah, Agent Romanoff. I was wondering if you would be kind enough to show Doctor Banner to his lad." Fury says. I walk over to the Doctor. "Come on, Doc. Your gonna love it. We got all the toys." I say.
After I leave Banner in his new lab, I head back to the bridge. When Fury sees me, He motions me over. "Yes sir?" I ask him. " I need you to call your girlfriend and bring her in. I know she's going to be pissed, But tell her that I need her ass here." He says. I nod my head. He gives me a phone to contact her on. I step out of the room and into the hall. This wiil be the first time in 3 weeks that I'll here her voice. I hit the only contact on the phone and it rings for a bit before she picks up. "Fury, I swear to god. I am close to being doen here. What do you want?" I here from the other end. It makes me smile. " Hey, Babe?" I say. "Natasha? Where's Fury? Is everything okay?" She asks. I sigh. "No, Everything is not okay. We need you to come in. The tesseract has been stolen." I tell her. "Shit!" She says. " Okay. Send me the coordinates for where you'll be in an hour. I'll be there. I have a base to blow up first." She says. "Alright, Be safe." I tell her. "You too. Дорогая, я люблю тебя." She says. I smile again. "я тоже тебя люблю." I say. I hang up and head back to Fury. I hand him the phone and nod my head. I head to a desk with a computer to work on some paperwork while I wait for something to happen.
I'm almost done with my paperwork when I hear "Sir, we have an unknown entity headed our way. Shall I open fire?". "No don't do that. That entity has permission to land aboard this helicarrier." Fury says. " Romanoff, Go meet them. But don't dally. I want her in this bridge ASAP." He says to me. I get up from my seat and head to the airlock. I wait a few minutes before the light turns red, indicating that someone has entered the air lock. When it turns green, The door opens. I throw my self into her arms. Ashton drops her bags to pick me up in a hug. I stuff my face in her neck and breath her in. She is finally back. Ashton sets me down after a moment and looks at my face. I look into her eyes. "Hey." She says. I smile. "After 3 weeks, All you have to say is hey." I ask her. She smirks. "indeed it is." She says. I smake her shoulder and scoff. I grab her and as she bends down to pick up her bags. "Come on Fury is waiting for us." I tell her. We walk to the bridge and she sticks her bags in a corner. She goes to talk to Fury to get more details on the situation. I walk back over to the computer and finish my paperwork. After I submit it, I head to the cafeteria to get a snack. I head into the kitchen and grab a peanut butter sandwhich. As I make it, I hear someone walk in behind me. A familiar set of arms wrap around me. I lean back into her and continue making the sandwhich. "Peanut butter again?" She asks me. "You know it." I say. She chuckles and lets me go. She leans on the counter beside me. "I heard everything that happened. We'll get him back." She says. "I know. I'm just worried about how he'll react afterward." I tell her. "He'll be okay. I'll help him through it. We both will." She says ,placing her hand on my shoulder. I cut the sandwhic in half and give her one. She refuses at first. "When was the last time you ate?" I ask her. She looks at me. "When was the last time you ate?" She asks me. I look at her plainly. " This morning at 5 o'clock." I tell her. She purses her lips together and takes the other half. "Thats what I thought." I tell her. We eat in silence.
After we are done eating, we head back to the bridge. We sit down beside each other and she tells me about her mission. She tells me she was upset about being pulled out becasue she was close to making a break. "If it makes you feel any better, I was pulled out of mine in the middle of an interrogation. I had to get the big guy." I tell her. She looks at me, confused. "But Stark doesn't trust you. Or me for that matter. And I was his favorite." She says. I chuckle. "Funny, but no. The Big guy." I tell her. It only takes her a moment to figure out who I'm talking about. The blood drains from her face. "What the fuck?!" She shouts.
