The next day rolled around and Marinette was at the breakfast table, poking her pancakes. Her mind was still on the thought that her feline partner had kissed her on the cheek.

Half of her was saying that he was just teasing her, and her other half was about to have her heart fly out of her chest with happiness.

"Are you alright, Marinette? You have touched your food." Sabine asks with a concern look.

The bluenette jolts out of her thoughts and her form slipped from her hand.

"Y-Yeah, I'm great!" She stammers with a plastered smile.

"Well, if you're done with your daydreaming, Alya is waiting for you to make the deliveries." Sabine smiled.

"Right! I'm going!" She says quickly, jumping out of her chair and running for the door.

Marinette popped out and grabbed the boxes she was to deliver and pulled them into her arms. As she walks to the gate, her foot tripped over a rock and she stumbled, hitting the ground. The blue eyed girl flinched, waiting for the toppling treats to come falling on her.

"Curse my clumsiness." She muttered.

"Nice to see you too, Mari." Alya snickered as she held the boxes.

"Thanks, Alya." Marinette grumbled.

"Did you hear about the new heroes in Parisia?! Ladybug and Chat Noir!" Alya exclaimed.

"I can't believe Nadja got to them before I could." She muttered.

"Well no worries, I bet you'll get there and get your scoop." Marinette giggled.

"I don't think I have a shot." She grumbles.

"Oh? Why not? You're an excellent writer!" Marinette remarks.

"I'm apparently not worthy of being in the news since I'm nothing more than the servants to Dupain-Cheng's." She muttered.

"That's stupid." Marinette scoffed.

"Well if you have an idea you can go ahead." Alya waved her arm.

"In the mean time, I'll just be doing what I'm told to do. Serve Dupain-Cheng's." She said quietly, walking off with the boxes to deliver.

As Alya turned a corner, a faint tear streamed down her face. She was frustrated. Upset. That they refused her a chance since all she was to the world was some girl Marinette took pity on.

It made her want to hurt them. Hurt Marinette for the image she was given. She gripped the boxes tightly, her knuckles going pale. The brunette took a deep breath as she placed the boxes on the bench and pulled out her spiral pad she had gotten from her mother for her seventeenth birthday.

Her mother had scrapped together enough to finally get Alya her own gift for her birthday that wasn't from Sabine or Marinette. She smiled faintly at the book before the memories of being rejected filled her head, making her smile go sour.

Without noticing, a dark moth flew down to the pad and the yellow-tinted pages darkened into a black with a purple glow.

"Lady Gossip, I am HawkMoth. You want to bring the truth of your findings? Well, I give you the powers to do so and bring justice and pain to those who belittled your talents. Just bring me the Miraculouses of Ladybug and Chaf Noir." HawkMoth beckoned.

"Gossip spreads fast, I'm in." Alya smiled cruelly, accepting the clouds of purple mist to envelope her.

Moments after, the most had disappeared, leaving her in a black gown with purple glitter sprinkled at the bottom. Her brown to orange ombré hair was pulled up into a braided crown bun and in her hand a black pad sat.
