The dagger felt like it was getting heavier by the second as she followed Chat Noir out into the gardens. A slow drag of her feet, telling her to stop. To drop it. To give up. But at the same time, there was a urging feeling to reach the end and get what she wanted.

Or what she thought she wanted.

Chat led her into a beautifully designed garden. Filled with bright, glowing flowers of every kind. The bushes were lusciously green and trimmed to perfection. There were stone steps that led to a small, circular platform in the center. Stone benches stood with its back facing the bushes.

She felt her breath was being taken away as she surveyed her surroundings.

"This is beautiful!" She exclaimed, twirling a few times to take it all in.

For a moment, her mission no longer mattered. But like any moment it moves on too fast.

"It's quite beautiful." Chat agrees, tilting his head towards her.

He stretched out his hand and waited for her to accept it. She hesitates for a moment before taking his hand, allowing him to take her to the platform.

His hands fell to her small waist. His electrifying emerald eyes were focused on her, sending a shiver down her spine.

Her hands were lightly held over his chest. Her eyes stared back into his, without a breath of hesitation.

"You may not return my feelings, M'Lady, but I do love you. Since the day I first laid eyes on you." Chat confessed.

"When I first met you as we headed to fight Stoneheart. Your courage and intelligence is unmatched to any other I've seen." He continues.

He allows his hands to slip away from her waist and to her hands, holding hers in his.

"Every time I see you, I feel butterflies in my stomach. A never ending feeling of an unknown sensation at every glance. Every smile. Every laugh." He smiles warmly at her.

"So, as much as I understand if you don't return my feelings. Please, tell me now to release me from this never ending cycle." He whispered.

His eyes that normally held curiosity and a snarky attitude was now filled with a look of agony. Of pleading.

"Chat... I love you too." Lady Misfortune whispers.

The words came from her throat without her even understanding the words.

Chat's eyes brightened and he dipped her back, a hand in her waist to have full security of not dropping her. His other hand caressed her face gently. His eyes shut tight.

His lips brushed against hers, a sense of longing and passion fueled the kiss, making it more and more intimate by the second.

Lady Misfotune stayed still as she kissed him back. Her hand was on the top of his head, gently brushing his hair. While her other hand, automatically went for the dagger.

She lifted the skirt slightly to reach for the dagger. Her lips pressed harder against his to save the moment. Her hand unclasped the strap on the dagger.

His hand pushing strands of hair out of her porcelain face. Her hand tightly holding the dagger as she dragged it over and behind him.

Tears slowly formed in her eyes as she has them flutter open. Her sight was slightly blurred. Her hand aimed the dagger into his back with a precise aim.

As if the hand was no longer hers.

The dagger didn't move.

Their lips finally parted, releasing a breath. Their eyes met against and Chat smiled softly. He took a finger and wiped away the tear that slipped down her face.

"Don't cry, M'Lady." He whispers, stroking her cheek gently.

Her eyes directed its attention to the dagger. She couldn't stop. She couldn't bring the dagger back.

With a shriek, her dagger drove into Chat's back, driving a hole straight through his heart.

He lets out a groan and his hold on her loosens as he falters and hits the ground.

"CHAT!" She screamed.

Tears were flowing out her eyes. The dagger clattered against the ground and she fell over, holding his head in her arms, allowing it to rest in her lap.

"I'm sorry." She whispered, over and over again,

Chat's transformation slowly dissipates, leaving a bloodied Adrien. Her apologies and sorry's slowly became inaudible as she cried. His eyes still warm and kind as he lazily pulls a hand to her face. Comforting her.

"Don't cry." He whispers hoarsely.

"It's my fault." She cries.

His hand shakes slightly as he tries to remain his hold on her cheek, wiping away the tears.

"It'll be okay, alright?" He cooes, trying anything to calm her down.

Adrien's eyes flutter shut, ignoring his fight to stay awake. To stay alive. To be there. To whisper soft words of nothing to calm his lady down.

And for the young prince, everything went black.
