"Can I have Camembert now?" Plagg groans.

"Yeah, yeah, hold on for a moment." Adrien responds, opening a cabinet to get a wheel of Camembert for his Kwami.

The prince tosses the wheel of cheese to his Kwami before dropping onto the chaise.

"Why was Marinette behind the monster?" Adrien muttered to himself. It gave him a fright that his new friend, to which he had grown very fond of, was in danger like that.

"Maybe she's a wildcard?" Plagg suggests, half-heartedly.

"Marinette isn't like that-" Adrien responds.

"Kid, you've known her for like a day." Plagg deadpans.

"But still, a friend is a friend, I can't stand to watch any of my friends get hurt." Adrien murmurs.

"Nice to know you care." The Kwami snickers.

Adrien rolls his eyes and pulls himself off the chaise and walks to the window. He leans against its frame and stares out into the the setting skies.

"I want to go and check on Marinette." Adrien states finally, turning to Plagg.

"And how do you plan on getting out of here, Your Royal Highness?" Plagg raises an eyebrow.

Adrien smirks and shows the ring.

"Absolutely not. I didn't sign up to be parading around and hanging out with girls." Plagg crosses his paws.

"Come on! It's just one time!" Adrien pleads.

"Yeah, and that one time will turn into a whole Romeo and Juliet thing." Plagg frowns.

"Just once, I want to make sure she's fine." Adrien repeats.

"Fine, one time." Plagg sighs.

"The things I do for you kid." Plagg mutters.

"Thank you! Plagg, claws out!" Adrien calls, transforming into his feline persona.

Chat Noir takes his staff and opens the window, vaulting himself out. As he runs across the rooftops, he takes in the freeing feeling he craves for every night. The feeling of running across rooftops and buildings without a care. The feeling of not being watched constantly and pampered, being free to make his own choices and get hurt if he wants to.

The feline hero makes his way to the familiar bakery he visited that morning with Chloe to get new clothes to stay hidden for the day. He smiles at the familiar scent of warm baked goods that wafted through the air. Chat Noir scans the building to see if he could possibly find the silhouette of the girl he was looking for. His eyes locked onto the slender silhouette with two pigtails in the attic and smiles.

He vaults over to the balcony, leading to the attic's trapdoor and walks to it. He looks inside the transparent trapdoor and sees Marinette hard at work. Chat Noir takes a deep breath before knocking on the door. The bluenette inside jumps slightly and turns to see the black suited hero.

She walks over and lifts the trapdoor up, allowing the hero in. Chat hesitates for a moment before sliding in.

"What are you doing here?" Marinette asks.

"I just wanted to check on you, especially after the Akuma today." Chat replies, his eyes wandering around the room.

"I'm fine. I'm not hurt or anything." The bluenette says, hugging her arms as she watches Chat's stare go from the walls of her room to her.

"T-That's good to know." Chat responds, jolting himself out of his thoughts.

"Are you hungry?" Marinette asks.

"Sort of? I got used to it over time." Chat Noir shrugged.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, I'll go get you something!" Marinette stammers before rushing down the stairs to get some baked good for her feline partner.

The leather suited hero sat down on the girl's pink chaise and waited for her to return as he looked around her small attic room. It wasn't like the lavish, large, ornate rooms back at the palace, but it had qualities he never felt back home. A warmth and friendly feel flew around the room and the whole bakery building.

"I didn't know what you liked, so I just grabbed a couple of everything." Marinette murmured under her breath, carrying a tray with her up the steps and shutting the door below her.

"It's alright, I'm fine with anything." Chat nods.

"Alright. Here then." Marinette responds, placing the tray between herself and Chat.

"Thanks." The feline hero says, picking up a cookie and quietly eating it.

It was probably the most awkward moment either teenagers have ever been through. The bluenette had never been in such an uncomfortable silence before, she didn't know whether she wanted him to leave or allow him to stay. The feline hero didn't want to bother her yet he didn't want to return to his dull life yet.

After ten minutes had passed, Chat had eaten about four and a half cookies, only sharing a couple words with the bluebell eyed girl.

"Well, I wouldn't to keep you from your things, I'll see you around then." Chat Noir sighs, pulling himself off the chaise.

"Y-Yeah, you probably have things to do behind the mask and all." Marinette responds, rubbing the back of her neck as she walked with Chat to the trapdoor above her bed.

"See you around, Princess." He winked, his flirty side slowly returning.

"Yeah, see you around." Marinette waved, watching him jump off the rail and into the night.

"Who were you talking to?" Lila asked, peeking through the lower doorway to her room.

Marinette jumped a bit off the ground in fright and scowled when she saw her step-sister.

"Did nobody ever tell you to knock, Lila?" She says with a passive-aggressive tone.

"Well I was just checking on my sister, because you know, that's what sisters do." Lila responds, feigning innocence.

"It's none of your business go to bed or something." Marinette scoffed, turning to her filled desk of miscellaneous items.

"Rude much?" Lila huffed, stomping back down the steps.

The bluenette rolls her eyes as she sat down on the chair of her desk and continued with her work in designing her dress for the upcoming ball.

Only a few more days left.
