Chapter 8

~Calipso's POV

I couldn't think straight and the only thing going through my mind is the question that Jackson had just asked me.

"Dude don't just stand there answer the guy."

Thanks Jaz way to make it not so out there and open. That's when I realized that everyone in drum line was around us waiting for my answer. I blushed furiously.

"Yes I'll be your surfing drummer girlfriend. Just as long as your mine one and only drummer boy."

I swear I thought his face was going to fall off with how much he's smiling like crazy.

"Your awesome you know that."

I smiled at that.

"Let's go get ready to rock the streets."

That's when he harnessed up and started playing out the cadence for this year and everyone one in drum line started playing it and we all headed over to the trailers.

When we got there I quickly got dressed and harnessed up.

"Hey Jaz do what we did last year."

Last year were both in the middle went towards the middle and started to play a part of a song then everyone would join in on it.

"Hell yah we are oh and I hope you memorized the song cause we're going to rock the streets on this fine fine day."

I sent her a nod and went to the back behind Alex and his freshmen tubas.

I stood in the middle next to my boyfriend.

"You ready Li?"

I nodded my head then he counted to three and me and him started out with this years cadence.

As we were playing the low brass people started playing part of I got a feeling. That was my cue to start heading towards the middle.

As I was heading over there I noticed Jaz was backing up so I played louder and she knew to stop.

"You ready."

I practically had to scream for her to here me.

"Yah I am ready set start drumming."

I started drumming and I paused then there was an echo in the back so I continued and the echo did to.

I started to play I got a feeling, the trumpets join in while the low brass was playing can't hold us.

It was a mash up we were doing this year. The band then stopped and I was drumming lowly and Jaz was playing I got a feeling.

It ended with Alex playing I got a feeling and me hitting my snare one last time, and then I started to click cause we were in the quiet zone.

"Dude that was awesome listen to the crowd cheering dude."

Jaz was right everyone was cheering and calling my name and it made me smile.

"Well we have to actually play our march now so I'll see you later Jaz. Member your going to my house and your chilling with the rest of us."

She nodded her head and then we split up. I turned around and started playing the cadence. The low brass was doing their thing and we were just having fun with it cause this was our last march of the season.

As we came to the end we waited for our rivals to finish. When we were all waiting for the judges results to happen the drum line unharnessed and set our drums in order from biggest to smallest, and by number.
