"Please, take a seat" Dumbledore kindly ordered while sitting down on his own chair behind his desk. Awkwardly, we all did as told and took our seats. My heart is beating way too fast for my liking, as the memories from last night's ordeal came flooding in. Trying not to turn red with embarrassment, I avoided Dumbledore's gaze, fiddling with the hem of my flannel. I can't help but wonder if he remembers how I yelled at him. If he does, I wouldn't imagine why he'd still be interested in helping me. I disrespected him, not only in front of his students, but in front of his colleague, Professor McGonagall. I'm surprised I haven't been expelled yet, I'm sure disrespecting a teacher isn't taken lightly around here. But then again, Dumbledore is an old man after all, maybe his age is finally catching up to him and he's starting to forget things...
"Feeling better today, Miss Grimaldi?" Dumbledore asked, twisting his head slightly as he smiled sweetly.
My breath hinged. Yeah, he's definitely not forgetting things just yet.
"Professor...I'm so so-" I began to apologize, though I didn't really mean it as much as my tone of voice showed. But hey, I can't afford getting expelled right now, I'd have no where to go. My uncle would surely find me if I go back home, if he's not already there himself. I have no way to get to France, or Italy, so our two manors over there won't be of much help either. Maybe Mrs. Weasley will take me in?
"Not to worry. It wasn't your fault. I understand your anger and confusion towards my decision making, and I shall explain everything to you shortly. Now, first and foremost, will anyone like a cup of tea?" Dumbledore asked, raising a brow as he scanned the rest of our faces. No one moved a muscle, which seemed to be enough of an answer for Dumbledore.
"Very well, suit yourselves" He said, as a white tea pot came floating by, followed by a little tea cup. The cup placed itself on the desk, before the pot began to pour some tea for Dumbledore. "Now, where do I begin? Ah yes, Miss Granger, have you brought the list I asked for?" Dumbledore asked, taking the tea cup and bringing it up to his lips. Hermione nodded, taking out a piece of paper from her bag and handing it to the headmaster.
"Most people were delighted by the idea, though I'm afraid Cho wasn't very fond of it. She said Quidditch practice and studying for the OWLS have got her busy enough already. Everyone else agreed though" Hermione said, as Dumbledore scanned the piece of paper with a satisfied look. He nodded at Hermione's words understandingly.
"Not a problem, I expected for some to have too much on their plates, this'll do perfectly. Thank you, Miss Granger" Dumbledore smiled at Hermione, and I couldn't help but look between them in confusion. What the hell are they talking about?
"Am I supposed to know what you're going on about?" Draco asked, reading my thoughts. He looked annoyed as ever, yet Dumbledore seemed to be completely clueless about his tone. Either that or he chose to ignore it.
"Oh! Pardon me, Mr Malfoy, it slipped my mind to fill you both in on our little plan" Dumbledore said, chuckling to himself, yet Malfoy didn't crack a single smile. God, he's been so grumpy lately. All he does is glare at people and frown all the damn time. It really doesn't help brighten the mood under these circumstances.
Dumbledore placed the cup of tea on the desk, the paper still in his other hand before he began to finally explain. "Well, I believe it's only appropriate to point out that, given last night's events, this situation has gone far beyond only placing you in danger, Miss Grimaldi. Not only because of your uncle, but because of the reason behind his actions. You see, based on what Mr. Devereux has informed me, your uncle-"
"You can't seriously be trusting a single thing that comes out of his mouth!" Draco suddenly interrupted, pointing over at Felix, who immediately rolled his eyes in annoyance, almost as if he was waiting for Draco to say something.
