Chapter 6

You would think getting caught reading confidential government papers, and getting caught would scare me, you thought wrong.

They escorted us back to the palace. My parents where back with the Neil guy, whose cut has been healed. Jill and Eddie are talking to him. They know him too. Sonya was pressing my parents about him.

Everyone stopped talking as soon as we walked in. My guess trying to figure out what we know. Only Steve and I knew the truth about Declan and I.

Declan. I glanced over at him, forgetting he doesn't know about any of this. The man we found today was his father. My news wasn't as earth shattering as mine, because well I grew up with Rose Hathaway as my mother, I never thought about another lady being my actually mom. It was quite reliving knowing that no one can come in and break my family apart.

I'm glad Lissa and Adrian walked in before I said anything, I wasn't thinking about how he would feel knowing his parents aren't actually his parents.

My parents, and Sydney followed us to the back. Declan, Malakai, and Alexei joined our friends, my guess filling them in.

Lissa started pacing back and forth, "First how did you guys know where to go?"

"Malakai sneaks into the files and reads them during the summer, and he told us about the room, so we decided since no one is guarding." I said almost immediately, "You compelled me." I said disgusted.

Steve grabbed my hand, "Your majesty, as your loyal subjects, we'll tell you the truth, you don't have to use magic on us."

Lissa just nodded.

"I would like to talk to Steve in private." I looked at him, and then back at everyone else. "Just one minute."

They all look hesitant. "Lissa, we won't go far, just a minute." my mom said. They stepped away.

I looked over at Steve and we both spoke at the same time.

He gave me a quick smile, "You first."

"We can't say anything to Declan about the papers, Adrian and Sydney should, it's none of our business. We can let them know we know, but we won't say anything."

He smiled again, "That's exactly what i was going to say." He rubbed my shoulder, "How do you feel about it?"

"Honestly," I smiled back at him, "Relieved that I don't have to walk past a moroi again and wonder if that's my actual mom."

They came back. Lissa stepped towards the back hanging out with my mom.

Adrian sat right in front of us. "Kit kat, I need you to tell me exactly what you know."

I sighed, "We know about Declan. But we won't say anything. We think that it's best if it came from you guys."

"Thank you." Sydney rubbed Adrians shoulder as he took a sigh of relief.

They left back to the group. Lissa followed them. My parents sat in front of us.

Steve squeeze my hand, "I'll talk to you later darling." He kissed my cheek and went to Lily.

I looked back to my parents.

"You're smiling." my mom said. I didn't even realize I was.

"Why didn't you guys tell me?" I asked.

My dad looked at my mom and sighed, "We didn't know your mom was pregnant until a couple of weeks into the mission. We knew it could happen from Declan, but we thought we both had to have spirit in us."
