Night Walker

Chapter 9

Lily stopped talking once she heard footsteps. She went to her bed laying down again.

My parents and Asher along with someone I don't know wandered down here. They smiled when they saw me.

They opened the cell and let the other people go inside.

"Ahh," said the middle aged woman, "You must be Katerina." She touched the side of my face, "I've never seen a moroi as pale as you, and with red eyes."

The cell door closed as soon as she walked in. I looked at my parents waiting for an explanation.

"Wanda, she's a feeder." My mom explained.

I felt disgusting. I bent down and rubbed my fingers along her neck. I hesitated.

"Can you guys, look away?" I asked.

They turned around and faced Lily's cell.

I sunk my teeth into Wanda's neck. At first it tasted gross, but then the metallic taste turned into something sweet. I couldn't stop, even if I wanted too.

"Kat you can stop now." I heard someone say.

After I didn't "Kat."

I stopped tasting blood. I let go of the body. She dropped as soon I stopped holding her back.

"Oh god." I stepped back realizing what I've done. "I killed her." I looked back up and my parents, "I didn't mean too I swear."

They looked at me like I was a different person.

I looked away from them. "Please go."

"Kitty." a faint russian accent said.

"Daddy, please."

They hesitate. But they left.

The farther Asher got, the less guilty I started to feel, until I felt nothing.

Lily stood back up, "Things are changing Katerina. And it all starts with you."

She was right. This meant being experimented on. There has never been a two sided bond until now. I wasn't going to be restored anytime soon with all of this. I wasn't going back to the academy, or see Steve for god knows how long.

You heard footsteps again. This time just being Asher.

"Hey."

I looked at him then back Lily. He knew I wasn't okay, he felt exactly what I did.

"Roman wants to see you and I want to know if that's okay with you."

Hearing Romana name unlocked a memory I didn't know I had. The cave. The strigoi.

"Asher go." I yelled. I knew if he stayed here the more emotions I would feel. The more I would remember.

He hesitated. Then he remembered too. He read my emotions. He ran back up.

"I'm so sorry. Kat, I didn't know." he said through the bond.

"Don't come down here."" I pleaded.

I can't turn back. I don't want to feel anything. I just killed someone for no reason. There are so much emotions I never want to feel. This is bad, really bad. But this is my life now.
