Maeve sat alone in the corner of the loud common room, slowly sipping fire whiskey.
She never really liked to party (especially with gryffendors.)  Every party she would go in feeling confident and end up sitting alone, listening to everyone drunkenly chatting.
" Enough." She thought.  "I'm not just going to sit around at a party.  Wrong bitch.  I'm going to get up and I'm going to dance like a baddie."
With that, she stood up and walked through the crowd to Pansy and started dancing.  The music was so loud that if someone was screaming bloody murder knowone would notice.
Maeve turned around, now facing a boy she knew as Oliver Wood and head butted his chest, making him drop his drink on her.
"Oh- I'm sorry." They both said basically in unison.  They both awkwardly giggled and he shyly rubbed the back of his neck.  He bent down and picked up the cup he had dropped.  "Wow."  Oliver said bringing his hand up to the droplets of fire whiskey now in her hair. "Here let me help you with that."  He said shyly patting her head, turning his attention to the other side of the room.
He grabbed her by the wrist and dragged her to a group of couches by the fireplace.  "What did you do now Oliver."  A short boy she knew as Lee Jorden said, walking up to Maeve and looking at the wet spot in her hair.  He tapped her head where the stain was and retracted his hand, giggling lightly.
"I spilled some fire whiskey on her hair."   Oliver said grabbing a napkin from a cluttered table filled with junk food from the kitchen beside him.  Now the rest of the people that were on the couches were watching them, and one approached.  "Oi Ollie."  Fred Weasley said strutting over to her, holding a half empty red solo cup.
Lee stepped out of the way and his attention was now turned on Maeve.  He tilted his head, sat down his cup, and stepped closer to her.

      " Shit." She thought.

Fred Weasley had been one of her tormentors for years, making fun of her because of her quietness and how she never smiled.
"Ah, what do we have here?" He said with a grin.  He stepped a little closer reaching his hand up to lightly brush her hair.  He pointed to tree he top of her head and said something to his twin brother standing behind him, both of them letting out a chuckle.
"Not in the mood Weasley."  Maeve said glaring at him, knowing every conversation they had he would poke fun of her.
"Can I not come and see what is going on over here with my friends.  Jeez no need to be snappy."  He said with another taunting grin.
Maeve rolled her eyes.  "You know exactly why you came over here." She usually wasn't this talkative when it came to Fred's tourment, but she was especially irritable tonight.
Oliver (still dabbing her hair with a napkin) watched them both with a confused look on his face.
Fred furrowed his eyebrows.  "What's your problem." He said taking a step back.
"What's my problem?" Maeve said raising her voice and standing up more.  "My problem is that I cant have one peaceful night, or try to enjoy myself at a party without you mocking me or someone spilling there bloody drink on me!"
Everyone started to quiet down and direct there detention to them.  Mave realized that Fred actually hadn't really done anything to her yet (atleast not that she knew of) so she was lowkey yelling a him for no reason, but that didnt matter because she had to carry on the argument she now started.
"Will you calm down!" Fred yelled.
"Dont tell me to calm down!" She said stepping closer to him.

"I litteraly did nothing to you!" He said, visibally annoyed.
"oh really, so telling me how much of a reject and disappointment I am every day of my fucking life is nothing to you?."  The argument was starting to go fast.
"That was a joke, can you not handle a joke? And besides, if you weren't such a disappointment I wouldn't say anything about it now would I!"

That was the last straw.

Maeve furrowed her brows and took another step forward.  "You do not speak to me that way. EVER.  I'm not the only disappointment here now am I?  I wonder how mommy and Daddy feel when they get letters that there idiotic son has detention for two weeks and failed all of his tests?"  She said fast and loud.
Now Fred took another step forward.  "You have no right speaking about me like that.  Atleast I do SOMETHING!  Unlike you I'm not a hermit with no friends, and a family that doesn't love me!  Not to mention a brother that won't even admit your related because of how much of a bloody freak she is!  Your just a stupid friendless girl that has nothing."
His face became softer, regret in his eyes.  Maeve let out a deep breath and looked down, slowly backing up.  She knew that if she stayed there any longer she might do something she would regret.
"Maeve.....I-" he started.  She held up her hand slightly.  "Dont."  And on that she turned around and ran out of the room, bumping into the watching people on the way out.

                              *           *

Maeve ran down the hallway, unable to stop.  She ran all the way to the abandoned girls bathroom, pushing the door open as hard as she could.
She ran up to the sink and placed her hands on either side of the sink, breathing heavily.  She looked up in the mirror at her tear stained face and scowled.
Something alot of people dont know about Maeve is that she might seem quiet and collected, bit she has extreme anger issues.
Sometimes it felt like know matter how hard she tried she couldn't contain her anger.  She would throw things and scream when she was alone, and rarely let herself slip in front of others.
This needs to be understood for what she was about to do.
Maeve let out a loud groan, and everything went black.  The next thing she new the mirror in front of her had a large gash in the center with cracks around it, and little glass shards falling into the sink.  Where she had punched the mirror there was blood, slowly dripping down into the sink seeping into the cracks surrounding it.
She looked down at her knuckles. which now had scratches and blood all over them.
Maeve let out a sob, slowly backing up.  She hit the wall hard letting out another loud cry and slowly sinked down till she hit the ground.  She let her anger get the best of her again, and it ended in destruction of school property and blood.
Minutes felt like hours as she sat on the ground, clutching her hand in pain.
She decided to head back to the common room, not caring about fixing her appearance because knowone would be up at this hour.
       So she thought.
