So, you've just picked up Shin Megami Tensei 6, or VI, for the PlayStation 5, Virtual Boy Ultra, Nintendo Switch, and Sega Master System Deluxe but may be asking yourself 'Why did I get this one? I've never played a MegaTen game before!' Well, I'd recommend reading through this introduction to catch you up to speed on the world of MegaTen. If this game is not your first MegaTen game and you just want to get to the guide, feel free to check out the table of contents to find the ending you're trying to get.

Anyways, for those who are new to the series, I would recommend playing ANY OTHER MEGATEN GAME before this one as this one really connects the complex lore between all the other games. Though, if you have already bought it and are itching to play then don't fret as this game is still an amazing addition to the MegaTen catalogue.

The MegaTen games include many ideas and mythologies to create fantasic stories and triumph and sorrow. Games such as the mainline Shin Megami Tensei games usually are set in a post apocalyptic world setting where demons and creatures of various mythologies now inhabit the world, and the protagonist and their friends go on a journey to either save the world or recreate it in their own image. A spinoff of SMT is the Persona series, focused on more minimalistic and societal problems when compared to its older cousin SMT. In these games, the narrative is usually that of high schoolers who encounter issues that require them to manifest their spirits into powerful bodies to fend off evil monsters or vile people. There are many more spinoffs, such as Devil Survivor, Devil Summoner, and Digital Devil Saga. If you are interested in looking into these games as well as deeper into others, I recommend taking the time to research the MegaTen series yourself.

Anywho, let's talk more about Shin Megami Tensei VI, the newest addition to the Shin Megami Tensei mainline series! As customary with the SMT games, this one revolves around the idea of the world being turned into ruins and everyone being resorted to live among the terrors of the demons of the apocalypse. While some fight for the rebuilding of civilization, others wish to unite with the demons and their powers. An interesting concept that hasn't been as deeply explored in other games as this one is the concept of dimensions and and universes colliding. With this, many of the characters from other games are present and in one way or another, integral to the plot. This is where the source of the seemingly endless amount of endings comes from.

If this is your first time playing this game, I recommend you play through blindly to see what ending you get. Otherwise, let's get started with the multiple endings and how to get them!
