Chapter 3

"Ash!"

She looked up when she heard her name. "Oh hey, Chloe! Wassup?"

"Wassup? Aren't you going to tell me since when did you become Clark's girlfriend, huh?"

Chloe. She is her best friend for forever and she knows everything about her well except this one. She forgot to tell her. Blame her unending requirements.

"Chill, Chloe."

"Chill? You want me to chill after hearing the news that you are dating Clark!" She shouts.

Ashley thinks that her best friend is overreacting. Why does it look like a big deal that she is dating that guy? Well, she's not really dating him, they were just pretending.

"Will you please tune down your voice? I'm just right in front of you, no need to raise your voice." She calmly said.

"Okay. Fine. Sorry." Chloe calms down and sit beside her on the bench. "Now spill!"

Ashley rolled her eyes. Chloe will surely let this one slipped away.

"I'm really dating him. Well, uhm technically we are but it was all a pretend."

"What? Why? I mean, why do you have to pretend?" Chloe is confused.

Ashley sighed. "He asked me to pretend to be his girlfriend to make Nina, his ex-girlfriend jealous."

"Why would he do that? And that is a stupid idea."

"Excuse me! That's my idea." She said feeling a bit offended by Chloe.

Chloe looked at her judging her hard. "Now I know why it was a stupid idea."

"Hey!" She glares at him.

"But seriously, why that idea? Did you purposely suggest that idea to date him?"

"What? Are you crazy? I didn't even know his existence until I saw him looking so devastated yesterday at the park."

Chloe squinted her eyes, eyeing her suspiciously.

"Come on! Stop looking at me like that. I don't like the guy."

"Fine. But how long are you going to be his fake girlfriend?"

Ashley shrugged. "Until Nina came running back to him, I guess."

"Well, you better be careful. I don't want you hurt after this." Chloe said looking so hopeful.

"Stop that. I won't get hurt after this. I don't have any feelings for him. I'm just helping him."

"I know. But who knows, I just don't want you to get hurt."

"Seriously Chloe, nothing's going to happen to me."

Am I truly sure of that?

One week after...

"Hey, babe!"

Ashley's eyebrows furrowed when she heard that endearment again.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to pick my girlfriend up," Clark said as he took the bag and books from Ashley.

"You don't have to do that. Nina didn't come to school today."

"So?" He looked at her with wonder.

"So? It only means that we don't have to pretend."

"Who said that I am pretending?" He said looking so serious.
