It's You (On-hold)

Chapter 9

The four of them went to their team leader to start their internship.

"Okay guys, I'm Troy Manarang. I'll be the one in-charge with you guys all throughout your internship. For now, we don't have new project to work to, since the current project that our team is working on is about to get done, your task for the meantime is to organize these files," Mr. Manarang pointed at the bundles of folders at the top of the table.

"Encode them and save them in their respective folders. It's up to you guys how you'll divide those files but make sure that you finish them all by the end of the day. For the meantime, you guys use this room and those 4 laptops while the tech department are setting up your office cubicle. Anyway, if you have any question I'll be on my station so don't hesitate to approach me, okay?"

"Yes sir!" The four interns simultaneously answered.

Mr. Manarang looks satisfied by the answer. "Very well, welcome to the company and enjoy your first day at work. Fighting!" Mr. Manarang pumped his fist in the air before leaving the room.

"We haven't even started but I'm already exhausted just by watching this mounds of folders." Alyx complained as she starts to get some folders.

"I feel you sis. First day of work we'll be worn out by this." Carlo agreed while taking folders.

Clark looked at Ashley who's busy taking some files to start the task. He wanted to sit beside her so that he can get a chance to talk to her. He was about to take the only chair beside Ashley but unfortunately, Carlo beat him to that. He got no choice but to take the only vacant chair, which is right across Ashley.

Luck is still on my side. He happily thought.

Ashley quietly starts their task but she can feel a pair of eyes watching her. She doesn't need to look around to know who is watching her, it's the guy sitting across her.

Can he stop watching me and just do our task? She thought.

"So, what's your deal?" 

Clark's attention turned to Carlo when the guy speaks. "W-What?"

"What's your deal? Why do you keep on staring at her?" Carlo tilted his head towards Ashley's direction.

He isn't a nosy person by nature but Clark's constant staring at Ashley bugs him especially when the girl seems uncomfortable with it.

Clark was taken aback by Carlo's question. He didn't expect to be confronted by anyone this soon.

Seeing how Clark was taken aback, Carlo shook his head. This guy is hopeless.

"I don't know what's your deal with her, but will you stop staring at her? You're making Ashley uncomfortable." Carlo said before going back to his work. 

Ashley busily doing their task in her laptop but she's listening to 
Carlo and Clark's conversation. She's thankful for Carlo. She really is becoming uncomfortable with Clark's stares and she doesn't want anyone to notice that. She just hoped that Clark will not make it awkward and stay professional with their internship.

"You know,"

She looked up from her laptop when she heard Alyx speaks and she saw her leaning towards Clark with mischievous look on her face, that tells her that Alyx is up to no good. Their eyes met and she glares at her, giving her a warning but Alyx just smirk at her in return.

Oh no! This is not good. She screams in her head.

"I know you like Ash but be discreet about it dude. Staring at someone is not cool. Play it cool and smooth." She heard Alyx said to Clark.

Ashley rolled her eyes in annoyance. Istg I'll kill Alyx later. Urgh!

Ashley took her tumbler and walk towards the pastry for a coffee refill. They've been working for almost six hours now and fortunately, they're almost done with their first task. For the past hour that they are working, she's grateful that Clark stops staring at her after Carlo told him off. 

I'll treat Carlo for a meal sometime. She thought.

She was busy stirring her coffee when someone walked in. She quickly moved to the side thinking that it was one of her senior. She was about to greet the person but stop when she realized who the person was and she didn't even hide her annoyance.

"Hey!" Clark said when he got inside the pantry but just like what he's expecting, Ashley ignored him. It hurts but he has to bear with it, it was his fault why she's like that to him after all.

He took a deep breath before facing Ashley's direction. "I know you hate me but we are working together now. I hope our personal feud won't affect our job."

Ashley looked at Clark with her stone cold face. "And you have the audacity to say that to me." She scoff.

"Minding about you is not part of my business. You do your job and I'll do mine. Just stop staring at me like a creep." And with that Ashley left the pantry.

Clark watch Ashley's back as the latter walks away from him, again. He knows that getting Ashley's forgiveness is not easy but he's not going to give up on her. He'll do everything and anything just to get her forgiveness even if it means getting hurt by her words and action, he'll do it because he know that she's worth it.

I won't give up on you, Ashley. Never.
