¤MELANIE¤
"Look at this dress!" Narcissa gushes, running her hands through a silky black dress. "Mel, don't you want it? " Say no, she obviously likes it. You don't need it, say no.
"No." I shoot her a smile, which she returns.
"Well, I'll buy it then!" She takes the dress of it's hanger, walking up to the lady at the front desk.
"Your sure Cissy? You'll look like a vampire!" Bella walks by, and I quickly follow her. Cissa glares at Bella, giving the lady her money. I wait patiently on the side, looking at all the pretty dresses. Looking, not touching. I can't touch anything, or else I'll get in trouble. Besides, mummy can always buy me some better dresses anyways. Some better dresses, that won't make me look like a vampire. Narcissa thanks the lady, and we all walk out. Hogsmaede isn't usually this crowded in the afternoon, but lunch has just ended. I walk in between Narcissa and Bella, hiding away from the crowd of people. I look at my feet, making sure I won't trip on anyone's shoes, or my own.
"Is that Reg?" Bella then says, and I look up at her.
"Reg?" Who's Reg? I follow her gaze to a group of boy standing infront of a shop, talking amongst themselves.
"Look! There's Lucius!" Cissa squeals, running over to the group of boys. Bella rolls her eyes and struts over, me following right behind her. The only boy I know is Lucius, mostly because Cissa talks about him every second of every minute of every day. Other than Lucius there's Severus Snape, a quiet boy that always gets bullied by those icky gryffindors. There's also a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes, another with brown and freckles, and another with brown hair like Bella's and grey eyes. He looks around my age, a year younger than everybody else. We lock eyes for just a moment, a split second, before he looked away to answer a question the blonde boy asked him.
"Do you guys want to go to the three broomsticks?" Lucius suggests, and Cissa nods her head rapidly. I don't have anything better to do, so I also nod along. All eight of us walk through the crowd, a few of us having small conversations with eachother. I stare at my shoes, making sure I don't bump into anyone.
"I'm Marco." The boy with curly black hair and freckles introduces. Smile Melanie, smile.
"Melanie." I greet back, observing his face. Round, with cute little dimples. Freckles covering his cheeks and nose, and big, wide, blue eyes.
"How come we've never met?" He asks, putting his hands behind his back and walking just a tad bit slower by me. I shrug in response. I honestly don't know. We finally get to the three broomsticks, all of us walking inside. There are around 15 people inside, most of them just random people and some that are students from Hogwarts. We take a long table by the window, and I sit down between Marco and Sev. Next to Sev sits the blonde boy. Across us sits Bella, Cissa, Lucius, and the boy that I still haven't met. I don't know most of the people here. A man walks to our table, and we all order butter beers.
"God they're disgusting." I hear Sev mutter, as he watches Cissa lay her head on Lucius' shoulder.
"We all know you secretly wish to do the same thing with Evans." Evan's, Lily Evans. The red haired girl with brown eyes and rosy cheeks. Sev has fancied her since the first year. She seems like a nice girl, but no one else approves. Lily's a muggleborn, and most slytherins tend to stay away from them. Sev scrunches his nose, looking down and picking at his nails. The man comes back with all eight of our drinks, four in one hand and four in the other. He gives us our drinks, careful not to spill anything. The blonde boy chuckles as he watches the man try not to drop my drink. I smile at the man, muttering a quiet silent "thanks". Lucius and Cissa start a conversation, and Bella talks to the blonde boy across from her. I sip my drink quietly, watching the boy infront of me. He seems so perfect. All of his curls in the right place, his collared shirt is ironed perfectly, he brings his butterbeer up to his lips, taking a sip. Unlike Marco, who slurps and gulps it down in less than a minute. He obnoxiously sighs, and sends me a smile. I smile back, holding back a giggle as I see Sev's annoyed face. Marco calls over the waiter agian, ordering another butterbeer. He raps his hands on the table while he waits.
"So Melanie, whose your favorite professer?" Marco asks, resting his head on his hand.
"Slughorn, he can barely see one foot infront of him." I answer, chuckling lightly. The boy infront of me snorts, circling his finger along the rim of his mug.
"Professor Astro is my fav, she always cracks me up with her voodoo shit." The blonde boy says, leaning over infront of Sev so I could see him. I nod along, taking another sip of my butterbeer. The blonde boy sticks out his hand,
"Nate Avery." He introduces himself, and I hesitantly take is hand.
"Melanie Rose." He nods his head, leaning back onto his seat. I sigh tiredly, looking around the shop. I'm bored. I steal a glance at the boy infront of me, only to see that he's already staring. I stare right back, leaning forward just a bit. He dosen't look away, so neither do I. We stare at eachother, each one of us waiting for the other one to look away. Unfortunately, someone kicks my leg under the seat, making me break my eye contact to massage my shin. The boy chuckles, taking a sip of his drink.
"Hey!" I frown, watching him laugh agian. He drinks the rest of his butterbeer, clanking the mug down on the table.
"Regulus Black."
"Black?" Cissa never told me she had a brother.
"Narcissa's cousin." He explains, looking me up and down.
"Mel-"
"-anie Rose, I know." I scoff, flicking my finger agianst my mug. He keeps on staring at me though.
"So, is potion's actually your favorite class, or do you just like it because Slughorn's too nice for his own good?" He asks me after a while.
"No, I actually like potions." I chuckle nervously.
"Have you ever been to the Slug club?"
"Well, yes and no. You see...."
