The days were starting to get colder. When it wasn't pouring rain, a dreary fog was settled over the castle. Ginny was starting to get bored with the monotony of the classes. She missed quidditch, and her brothers, and Hermione and Luna. Sure, the girls here were great too, but it wasn't the same.
She was in the library. She meant to be studying, because had a transfiguration essay due by tomorrow, but everytime she tried to sit down she got too fidgety to concentrate. So now she was pacing the aisles. She had a book open, but her eyes were glazed over.
"Hey." James plucked the book out of her hands and glanced through it. "A Wizard's Guide to the Cosmos? I didn't think you were a nerd, Ginevra."
"I'm not." Ginny snatched the book back and put it on a random shelf. "And it's Ginny."
"Well, Ginny, don't you have a transfiguration essay to write?"
"Don't you?"
"No, I finished mine." James leaned against a bookshelf, "It may surprise you, but I'm actually good at school. Especially transfiguration."
It's official. He's nothing like Harry. "Well, good for you." Ginny picked up another book and opened it to a random page.
"That's astrology." James pulled the book out of her hands again. "You're in the wrong section. Books on transfiguration are that way." He pointed. "Remus is still working on his so you might as well go join him."
"Thanks..." Ginny walked in the direction he had pointed, despite her reservations about believing anything that James said.
Sure enough, a couple sections over she found Remus, sitting at a table covered in books, his head in his hands. He looked especially pale today.
Ginny sat down across from him. "Remus."
He started. "Oh, hi Ginny. I didn't see you there."
"Are you okay? You look like you're going to be sick. The assignment isn't that bad."
"No, I know. I'm fine, really. Just a bit tired." As he spoke, his head started drifting back to his hands.
"Great! Me too." Ginny jumped to her feet. "Oi! James!"
James poked his head out from behind a bookshelf. "Yeah?"
"We're going to get us some energy. You want to come?"
"Hell yeah!"
Ginny could hear the clacking of Madame Pince's shoes quickly approaching. "Then let's get out of here before Madame Pince catches up with us."
She and James grabbed each of Remus's arms and bolted out of the library, dragging the half-awake boy with them.
Once they had reached a safe distance, they paused to catch their breath.
"So, what did you have in mind, Ginny?"
She pulled a snowglobe out of her pocket, "I've got just the thing. Something my br--my cousins invented."
