Angel
I looked around at all the sea of humans horsing around me, Nathaniel playfully bumped into my shoulder to break my trance. He nodded to me as I went into the front office to get my schedule. He had called earlier and had gotten the debriefing of the school earlier.
The red-haired woman looked up.
"Can I help you?"
"I'm Angel Moreau," I hinted and saw the immediate recognition light her eyes. I was expected, a topic of gossip no doubt. A plate of super-rich disowned children with a side of unknown parents.
"Of course," she said. She dug through a dangerously high stacked pile of documents on her desk till she found the ones she was looking for.
"I have your schedule right here, and a map of the school." She handed me the sheets.
She proceeded to tell me about the teachers and which routes were best to take, she then reminded me about the school's rules and regulations and wished me a fantastic day - just as a mother does to her children. I looked down at the paper that I received to see that I had six classes in total: Maths, History, English, Art, lunch break, biology, and finally gym. I was exceptionally good at my academics because I had repeated my education quite frequently. History was my favorite subject for my first-hand knowledge. The gym was going to be a breeze, but it was a tad bit saddening knowing that this time around, My brother and I may need to hold ourselves back to not attract attention from the humans. (we liked to think of ourselves as more "advanced"). But I had the strangest feeling that something strange was to happen in today's academic schedule.
I walked out the door just to bump into a gangly boy with skin problems and hair black as an oil slick.
"Sorry" I apologized to the boy
"Hey! Your Angel right? The new girl?
I nodded as he picked up my schedule that had spilled on the ground
"I'm headed toward building four, I could show you the way..." Definitely over-helpful
"I'm Eric, by the way," he added.
I smiled. And politely and replied a quick thanks.
