After our messy morning in the tub, we emerged renewed.

There was a kind of freedom that came with exposing your soul to someone and having them accept it. I think Severus felt the same way, after that moment he blossomed before my eyes.

We had soaked two of his three pairs of pj's during our embrace in the bathtub, leaving us one pair to share. But I don't think either of us minded. As Severus retrieved the pj's from his bedroom, I took the opportunity to take my black panties off so I could dry them with a hot air charm. I slipped them back on just as he returned. Smirking at my topless figure, Severus gave me the shirt. It fit me almost like it was a dress, revealing only the length of my legs and a bit of my bottom depending on how I moved. He took the matching pants and opted for no shirt, to my pleasant surprise.

It was Saturday after all, we earned a little comfort.

I went back into the bathroom to search for a comb while Severus made us some more tea. My long, straight, chestnut hair had been understandably drenched and if I didn't comb it out now I would absolutely regret it later.

Even thought my hair refused to keep a curl for more than a few hours, it had no issue holding on to knots. To my dismay, my locks were currently full of them. I started with a small section on the right side of my head.

I wanted to brush my hair out as fast as I could so I could get back to spending time with Severus, which meant treating my hair a little cruelly. I winced as I pulled my hair a little too hard occasionally with my frustrated strokes.

"The tea is ready." Snape called from the other room. My progress was far too slow. This was putting me in a fowl mood fast. But it didn't seem to bother Severus, who was now leaning against the open door frame. Laughing.

"Are you laughing at me?" I said, my words laced with fake annoyance. Snape just laughed more as he walked over to take the comb from my hands.

"You're adorable when you make faces." He said smiling.

I blushed a little, relieved that he found me attractive in all of my crabbiness. "But let's save your hair from the torture you're inflicting on it, shall we?" He took my hand and walked me back out to the couch. Severus sat in his usual spot and placed a pillow on the floor in between his legs.

"Sit." He said with a hint of demand. Adoring his confidence in this moment, I complied.

Severus took his time working through each knot in my hair, being careful to not pull too hard. I felt myself melting into his hands and the couch I was leaning against. Sighing happily, I soaked up every bit of this moment as I sipped my tea.

"Is everything alright?" Snape asked, mistaking my sigh for something negative. I could feel him tensing up behind me. I placed my cup down and rested a hand on his knee. "Of course, I'm just enjoying myself. You have very gentle hands Severus." He laughed. "One would hardly describe me as gentle." He said. A distant sadness was creeping back into his voice. "Perhaps they weren't worthy of your gentleness. I consider it a great honour to be treated so kindly by you." Severus wrapped his arms around my shoulders and planted a kiss on the top of my head.

As he began brushing again, Snape spoke in a voice I almost couldn't hear.

"I am the unworthy one."

He now had nearly all of my head done, taking care to make sure every strand was perfectly combed out. We sat in a blissful silence for a while longer before I heard a soft hum behind me. It sounded like a song. It was one I didn't know, but coming from him it was all I ever wanted to hear.

"What are you humming Severus?" I asked softly. "Oh, it's just a little tune that I've always liked." He said shyly. "Are there words to it?" I prodded, eager to hear his voice sound musical once again. He inhaled, letting the silence flood back in for a moment while he continued to comb. I kicked myself for pushing him too far, wishing I would have just let him hum in peace. It was so soothing. But suddenly, the room was filled with his deep, velvety voice.
