My fingers slide into open air as we come to the end of the tunnel and enter the tomb. I guide Geb to a wall and shove my lantern deep into a jagged crack. It gives the small cavern an eerily dim lighting but it's better than complete darkness. At this peaceful moment, my captive decides to wake up again. I feel her desperately trying to thrash around under my rear end.
"Good morning, my darling. Did you have a nice nap?" I sigh sarcastically, sitting up on my haunches like a camel jockey. Princess Azizi fell to the ground with a thump, her screams muffled by the rag in her mouth. I slide off of Geb's back and crouch at his grubby hooves by Princess Azizi. I grab her wrist and drag her around Geb into the middle of the tomb. I loosen her wrist bindings to loop them around the second wooden post in the ground and retie them again. I do the same with the ropes around her ankles, out of the corner of my eye I see Geb move towards a trough of dried grass, twigs and seeds. I listen to his crunching as I remove the rag from Princess Azizi's mouth. She bites down on my fingers hard. I pull away and slap her temple with the slobbery rag, the fingers on my right hand throbbing. I grunt in pain.
"Are you some sort of crazy impersonator?! Why do you look like me?!" She yells, shaking her head. I hold up my right arm, tugging on my colorfully woven wristband to reveal a tattoo. A tattoo of a crook and flail, a tattoo that represents my true heritage. Princess Azizi's jaw dropped, her expression becoming gobsmacked.
"Yes, you may not remember me but we're closer than you'd first think. Even close enough to be sisters." I say with a hint of malice in my voice.
I smile crookedly and stuff the rag back inside Princess Azizi's mouth, "And now I won't have you in my way to the throne. I'd advise you to get comfy, as you're going to be here a while.".
I turn my body away from her, walking towards a tunnel that snakes up to the palace.
