Chapter Two: Being Nice

I felt someone shake me. "Wake up," I heard someone whispered. I woke up slowly. I looked and saw Malfoy smiling at me. I looked out the window. "You should change into your robes," he said. I nodded my head and went to get changed. I was on my way to the restroom when I ran into Hermione and Ginny. "Hi guys," I said. "Sophie, have you seen Harry or Ron?" she asked. "No I didn't. Ginny, when did you get on the train exactly?" I asked. Maybe I could get a clue about what happened to them. "We were almost late to the train. They should have been behind mom and dad," she said. Now that scared me. They may not be on the train. "Don't worry, Everything is going to be fine. Im sure they're somewhere," I said. They nodded. I changed my clothes and got back to Malfoy.

I got back to the compartment. I sat next to Malfoy. Crabbe and Goyle were gone. I guess they went to change. Malfoy was already changed. Malfoy notice something around my wrist. "You still have it?" he said "Of course, why would I not still have it?" I asked. "I don't know. Maybe you wouldn't after how I treated Potter at the bookstore," he said. I didn't like what he says about Harry, but I guess as long as I was there, he wouldn't do anything worse to him. "No. Beside, my friends back home kept asking me where I got the bracelet. Even my parents asked," I said. "Really? What did you say to them?" he asked with a smirk. "I just said a friend of mine gave it to me," I said. "Well I hope that we would become more than just friends," he said. "We'll have to see," I said.

We finally made it to Hogwarts. I went to sit at the teacher's table as usual. It was very different seeing the sorting at a different view. I looked at the Slytherin table. Malfoy smiled at me. "This is a bit boring," I see him mouthed. "I know. but, its almost done," I mouthed back. I looked at Gryffindor. I didn't see Ron and Harry. {Where are they? Did they really not make it to the train?} After the sorting the feast began. I took some chicken, vegetable, and a piece of bread. I gotten used to the Pumpkin Juice. I actually missed it when I was in my world. I only had a goblet full. After dinner was dessert. I had a piece of pumpkin pie.

Dumbledore dismissed us. I went up the stairs to my room. I saw Genevieve. "Hi Genevieve," I said. "Hello. Welcome back to Hogwarts Sophie," she said. "Fairy cakes," I said. She let me in. The room did change much. The only thing changed was the candles. I put my stuff away. I packed a bit more clothes this time with the help of Professor McGonagall. The day before Diagon Alley, she helped me buy some clothes. After I put my stuff away, I went to my desk to read and write in my diary a bit. A thought came to my mind. {I don't think I need to worry about my world for the time being.} Last year I remembered that no time seemed to have passed when I returned to my world.

I looked at the time and it was 9:40 pm. I got ready for bed and blew the candle out. I pulled the cover over me and clothes my eyes.

Next Morning....

I woke up at around 6:45 like I usually did. I got up and went to wash up. I let my hair down today. I put on my robes, got my timetable and my books for today. I walked out and told my password of the day to Genevieve. I went into the Great Hall and saw Ron and Harry there. I sighed in relief. I ate my usual breakfast. Eggs, Buttered toast, and an apple. I had a glass of orange juice. I checked my timetable. I heard footsteps towards the teachers table. I looked up and it was Malfoy. "Good morning Malfoy," I said. "Good morning Sophie," he said. "So now you are call me Sophie," I said. "Sure. Why not? Anyways. Can I see your Timetable?" he asked. "Sure," I said and gave my timetable to him. "We have the same classes," he said. happily. "Thats good," I said. He gave me my timetable and went back to his seat. I finished my breakfast and head out to my first class.

I went to the greenhouse. I had herbology in the green house with Gryffindor and Slytherin. There were a lot of Gryffindors. I didn't know where I was going to stand. I saw Malfoy. He gestured me over. I went over and stood next to him. He smiled at me. I smiled back. I looked at Harry and Ron across from me. They gave me a sad look. I gave them a weak smile. We all waited for our professor to arrive. "Good morning everyone," I heard. I turned my head and saw Professor Sprout. Nobody answered her. She tried again. "Good morning everyone," she said. "Good morning Professor Sprout," we said. She told us that we were going to repot Mandrakes. I read about them yesterday. Their cries could be deadly to anyone that hears it. Hermione explained about Mandrakes even the other name that it was known for. Gryffindor won some house points for the correct answer.

Professor Sprout told us to put our earmuffs on. Right now, the Mandrakes were too young to kill us but, they were still able to knock us out for a few hours. Malfoy put my earmuffs on for me. I turned to him. "Thank you," I mouthed. "Your welcome," he said. I watched Professor Sprout closely. I couldn't even hear what she was saying, but I understood what she wanted us to do. When she took the Mandrake out of the pot, the scream was piercing. I literally had to push my earmuffs into my ears. My ears were very sensitive. She gestured us to begin. I took the Mandrake in my and and pulled it up. It looked ugly in a cute way. I looked over at Malfoy. He sticked his finger in the Mandrake's mouth. The Mandrake bit his finger like it was a pacifier. Malfoy ended up pulling his finger out of its mouth. He got mad at it and stick it in the pot. I quickly stick mine in a pot and covered it with soil so it could stop crying.

After everyone was done with their Mandrakes, we were allowed to take our earmuffs off. Malfoy took mine off before he took his off. He was always nice to me. First, he let me use his shoulder on the train. Now, he was putting and taking my earmuffs off. Then I remembered what he said on the train. He hoped that were would be more than just friends. Right now, I could say that he was almost my best friend. Later in the day, I was walking to the Great Hall to study. I bumped into Malfoy on the way. "Would you like to study with me?" Malfoy asked. "Sure," I said back. We walked together to the Great Hall. I sat with him at the Slytherin table. Some Slytherins were confused as to why I was sitting there because I would either usually sit at the teacher's table or with the Gryffindors. I started to get nervous and wanted to just go to the teacher's table. Malfoy saw how nervous I was and glared at his fellow house mates. "You ok?" he asked. I just nodded my head.
