Chapter 11: It's Over

Fawkes came flying and dropped the sorting hat. {Why a sorting hat?} Harry caught it. I heard the weird language. It was parseltongue. I turned to the voice. It came from Tom. The statue behind him opened. The basilisk came out. It was huge. I saw Harry run. "I told the basilisk to not harm you," Tom said. "Why? Why keep me alive?" I asked. "Like I said, I have use for you. Also, I am aware of your powers" he said. I gasped. {He knows that I am a shifter? How?} I turned to Harry. Now I worried for Harry.

I saw Harry trip and lost his glasses. Fawkes came in and pecked and scratched the basilisk's eyes. {Now he can't die from looking at it.} The basilisk was blind now. Fawkes flew away. The basilisk could still hear Harry's movements. I saw him run into the tunnel with the basilisk behind him. I turned my attention toward Tom. I had my wand toward him. "Stay away from me," I said with venom. I was mad. I didn't want him near me when Harry is off to fight the basilisk. He was giving me a sinister look.

Then I saw Harry come out of the Tunnel. I didn't see the basilisk. He ran to Ginny. "The process is almost complete," Tom said. I turned to him. "Lord Voldemort will return," he said. I saw the basilisk rise up from the water. Harry grabbed the hat. He took out a sword. "Where did that come from?" I asked. Harry was able to kill the basilisk. He got hurt in the process. I went up to him and helped him walk to Ginny. The poison was spreading throughout Harry's body.

Harry took the diary and opened the pages. He stabbed it with the basilisk fang. Tom had a whole in his chest. Ink poured out of the book. Harry gave me the fang and I stabbed the book. Tom had light coming out of his mouth. He cried in pain and agony. I closed the book and gave the book and fang to Harry to finish the job. Harry stabbed the cover and it was done.

Ginny woke up and saw us. She saw Harry's injury. I saw Fawkes landed and came to Harry. Fawkes teared up. The teardrops fell into Harry's wounds. "Of course, phoenix tears has healing powers," Harry said. I gave him a smile. "Its over. Its just a memory," Harry said. Fawkes helped all of us to get out.

Harry, Ron, and I were in Dumbledore's office. We practically broke a dozen school rules in the past few hours. Dumbledore had evidence to have us expelled. But, he didn't. We were to earn special rewards for our services to the school. He smiled at us. We smiled to each other. "Thank you sir," Ron said. Dumbledore gave Ron a letter to give to an owl. It was a letter to Azkaban to get Hagrid back to Hogwarts. Dumbledore turned to us. He dismissed me. I went straight to my room.

I went to take a long shower to get the dirt off. I thought a lot of what Tom said. What did he mean? I shook my head and got out of the shower. I got dressed for bed. I needed the sleep. I decided to write my diary when I woke up. I pulled the covers and slept.
