"Mom, I'm so tired! Can we just go home?" I groaned.
Me and my mom were going for a walk around the town. I was quite stubborn and didn't want to go out. I was a 11 year old girl who just wanted to sit at home and draw stuff.
"Nika," My mom began, "Its a beautiful day and you seriously want to go home?"
"Yes." I stood still and lightly stomped my foot on the floor.
"Don't you want food? We're walking to the local food store." She sighed trying to get me to follow her.
She was ahead of me and I was standing still 2 feet behind her, refusing to come. I was starving so I finally gave in. Crossing my arms and frowning, I started walking along with my mom.
"What's up? You are always drawing so we never get to talk." She smiled.
I rolled my eyes. "I literally have NOTHING to talk about. Nothing interesting is happening, life is so boring now." I grumbled.
My mom looked at me and laughed. "Well it's because you are locked in your room all day. Go make some friends."
"I don't want to make friends." I looked around seeing if anybody surrounding me was my age.
It started getting crowded and everybody was leaving their houses.
"Are we there yet?" I whined, "We have been walking forever!"
"Just be patient. We're almost there." My mom assured.
I groaned and rolled my eyes. "Are you serious?"
"I'm doing you a favor by taking you out. Would you really rather be in your room right now?" My mom asked.
She already knew that my answer would be yes. "Oh my, how could you guess?" I said sarcastically.
We continued walking. My mind wandered off into my own world. I look down to the floor imagining my world where I'm a superhero and have lots of friends and fight crime. I wonder if one day it could come true.
"Hey, we're here." My mom tapped me on the shoulder so I could snap out of my daydreaming. There were bread and apples sitting in a wooden crate.
"I'll go get some food. You go play with the kids over there." My mom lightly pushed me on the shoulder towards 3 kids about my age. I just stood there and stared at them. One of them turned around towards me. We both made eye contact but then I hesitated and turned around running back to my mom.
"Mooooooommmmyyyyy!" I ran and hid behind her.
"What are you so scared of?" My mom chuckled, "They are just kids the same age as you, nothing to worry about."
"What do I ask them? To play? Play what? Can't I just stay with you?" I panicked. I wasn't a social person. In fact, I get anxious whenever I'm near somebody.
"Just introduce yourself. Trust me, you will want to hang out with them more than me once you get to know them." My mom turned towards me since I was behind her.
"Fineeee! Fine. Fine. Fine." I sighed and made my way towards them. "Nope!" I turned right back around. I can't do it. Nope, not at all. I turned back towards them. I have to do it. Come on. Come on. Come on.
"HELLO!!!" I flashed a giant smile, "MY NAME IS NIKA AND I AM 11 YEARS OLD! I HOPE THAT WE CAN BE FRIENDS!" I closed my eyes regretting everything I just did.
