"That's nice, you want to live in the interior, do you?" The sergeant asked Jean.

"Yes!" Jean replied.

Suddenly, the sergeant kicked Jean and he fell on his knees.

"No one told you to sit, recruit!!" The sergeant yelled, "If you can't handle this, Kirschtein, then forget about joining the Military Police!!"

"What the hell is wrong with your face, you smiling idiot???" The sergeant moved onto someone else.

"Marco Bodt at your service, sir, from Jinae. South side of Wall Rose." said Marco, "I aim to join the Military Police and give life and limb in service to the King!"

"Well, then. That makes you an idealistic fool." said the sergeant.

Marco's smile slowly faded away. The sergeant moved his face closer to Marco's with a scary intimidating look.

"The only use the King has for your life and limbs are as Titan fodder." He backed away and walked away. Marco was sweating, almost in tears.

"Hey, cue-ball! You're up next!" The sergeant screamed, moving onto the next cadet.

"Oh, me? Sir! Conny Springer, from Ragako village, sir!" The cadet put his fist backwards on his chest with his other fist behind his back.

Suddenly, the sergeant grabbed Conny's head with both hands, picking him up by his head. Everybody watched in shock.

"You have it backwards, Conny Springer." He grumbled, "That was the first thing you were taught. This salute represents the resolve in your heart to fight those bent on the systematic destruction of our people! Is your heart on your right side?" The sergeant was fumed with anger.

The sergeant looked to the side, seeing a cadet eating a potato. The sergeant dropped Conny, making him fall to the floor. He then walked towards the cadet eating a potato. The cadet had a high brown ponytail with bangs.

"Hey, you there. What do you think you're doing?" The sergeant asked.

The cadet ignored him and kept taking bites out of her potato.

"YOU ARE OFFICIALLY ON MY SHIT LIST!!! JUST WHO IN THE HELL ARE YOU??" The sergeant roared.  She swallowed a bite out of her potato before talking.

"Sasha Braus from Dauper village, at your service. Reporting for duty, sir!" said Sasha.

"Sasha Braus, huh?" The sergeant growled, "And what is that you're clutching in your right hand?"

"A steamed potato! It sat there in the mess hall begging to be eaten. Sir!" She replied.

"The theft I understand." He began, "But here? Why eat it here, of all places?"

"It looked quite delicious. And it was getting cold," She said confidently, "So I gave it shelter in my stomach, sir."

The sergeant looked really mad.

"Why? I can't comprehend. Why would you eat that potato?" Said the sergeant.

"Are you asking me why people eat potatoes? I'm surprise you don't know, sir." Her eyebrows went up a little.

All of the cadets looked at her in shock. I snickered because I found that a little funny. I put my hand over my mouth so the sergeant wouldn't hear me. The sergeant stood over her in silence. I tried my hardest to hold in my laugh.

Sasha ripped her potato in half.

"Here, sir. Have half." She said, offering the other half of her potato to him.
