Authors Note: This is my first story so please enjoy. I'm just doing this for fun so if you don't like it that's okay :) I will update whenever I can.
It was a week after the fight, and the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, Tony Stark was tinkering in his workshop, as usual. It was a warm night in Malibu, almost 7:30, the sun setting blissfully in the sky. Meanwhile down in the workshop, heavy metal music was blasting full volume as Tony was tightening something onto one of his hotrods. Clearly frustrated, "Jarvis, cut it!" He yelled over the music. The music stopped abruptly as he laid his head in his hands and rubbed his eyes. The truth was, he was handling the aftermath of his latest battle quite well. He just couldn't seem to keep his mind off the moment on the roof. He kept telling himself it was just a kiss. But somehow it was more than that. It was a true, heartfelt, loving moment between him and the new CEO, Pepper Potts. Tony wasn't the most used to those. Usually, the way things go with women is he meets them somewhere, and brings them home to have sex. Then she is gone the next morning. This was different. More special and in-depth than any other relationship he has ever had. He shook himself out of it. They weren't in a relationship. He knew that. Sweat dripped from his brow as he stood up and walked himself up to his room for a much needed shower.
"Good morning, Sir," Jarvis said. The lights flicked on. "It is 7:00 am here in Malibu. 71 degrees ." Tony awoke groggily trying to remember last night. "Jarvis, what time did I go to bed last night?" Tony asked. "8:52 pm Sir," Jarvis replied. Jeez, that's early. I hope I'm not sick. Tony thought, feeling his forehead. He quickly threw on some clothes, jeans, and a blue crewneck over an undershirt, and strolled downstairs. Coffee was already brewing. He threw two frozen waffles into the toaster and went to retrieve his coffee.
The familiar sound of heels clicking on the marble floor filled the room. He let his gaze settle on her. Pepper walked in carrying folders and books in one hand, and coffee in the other. Half and Half with a dash of cinnamon. He recalled, remembering her favorite way to have coffee. She wore a yellow skirt and white blouse, with heels that perfectly matched the shade of her skirt. No makeup, but he didn't think she needed it. "Good morning Mr. Stark," she said, snapping him back into reality. A pang of hurt flashed over him at hearing his last name. He always liked it more when she called him Tony. "Mrs. Potts," he replied with a slight smile. His waffles popped from the toaster and he tossed them onto a plate. "Is there anything I can get for you this morning?" He asked her. Now that she was the CEO, he felt the need to almost look up to her at times. "No thank you. That was very nice though," She replied sweetly. "Now, you have a meeting at 2:00 with the press, and you will have to answer questions about the recent battle." "Okay, I can handle that I think," he replied. "Good, now I'm going to head to my office. You know where I'll be if you need me." She said. Just before she turned he said, "Will that be all Mrs. Potts?" With a small smile, she replied, "That will be all Mr. Stark." She turned and clicked away to her office.
It was 3:30. The press conference went well, and he was now relaxing in a lounge chair by his large pool. He wore a pair of light blue board shorts with flip-flops and nothing else. The arc reactor glowed in his chest. His eyes were closed behind his sunglasses. Pepper walked out in a white sundress and flip-flops. As soon as he heard her footsteps, his eyes opened. He turned to look at her. She carried a tray with two tall glasses of lemonade. Tony loved lemonade. Without saying anything she handed him his glass. "Cheers," they said simultaneously and clinked their glasses together and took a sip. They both chuckled. "So the press conference went well I would guess, considering there hasn't been any huge chatter about something you said," she said looking over the brim of her sunglasses at him. "Yeah, I would say it went better than expected. I didn't say anything dumb, just like you always tell me," he said, the edges of his mouth turning up. There was silence for a moment as Tony chugged the rest of his lemonade and wiped his mouth with his arm. Pepper peered at him. "What?" He said jokingly as he glanced over at her. "How many times have I told you not to do that? Your arm gets all sticky and gross," she exclaimed, trying to hide her smile. Tony saw right through her and his heart felt tingly for a second. "I'm jumping in the pool!" He said abruptly, kicking off his flip-flops and sunglasses. "You want to come with?" He asked hopefully. "I'll dip my feet in," she replied. Tony shrugged and took a running start and jumped into the water, producing quite the splash. Pepper laughed, which made him feel good. She sat down on the edge of the pool and placed her feet into the water. He looked up at her. He then shook his head to get the water out of his hair which got her wet. "Hey!" She exclaimed and splashed him with her foot. It then hit him that they had never really 'hung out' the way they were right now. It was usually all business, and he really enjoyed this. She pulled off her sundress revealing a red bikini. He almost gasped. She looked gorgeous in red. She slid into the water and they continued to splash around. Then all of the sudden they both stopped. It was silent, but almost seemed like they were inching closer and closer. Pepper didn't know why, but she grabbed his shoulders pulled him in. Her lips crashed onto his.
