Ok so I'm apologizing in advance for this but I really just don't feel like writing about the press conference because that was kinda just a reason for the scene to end and I don't really have any good ideas for it. So I'm just going to fast forward 1 week to the fourth of July party. :) Btw thank you for the 20 views I appreciate it a lot. Stay safe and have a wonderful day/night/morning. <3

It was 4:30 on the day of the fourth of July party. Pepper and Tony had decided to drive together, and hang out but just no dancing, kissing, touching, or telling anyone about them. (These rules were initiated by Pepper obviously.)

Tony would be at her apartment at 5:30, so she quickly showered, shaved, and picked her dress. It was a silver dress with spaghetti straps. No open back this time. She slipped on some heels and silver jewelry. The truth was that she really hated heels but wore them often to be taller than Tony. She liked when he looked her right in the eyes. She put on light makeup, knowing she was only going to impress Tony, who has already seen her without any and liked it more. She blew her hair dry and curled it into beachy waves.

It was 5:20, so she went downstairs. She stocked her purse with the essentials, wet wipes, lip gloss, pepper spray, mini deodorant, wallet, and her phone. The deodorant made the list after her dance with Tony. The doorbell rang. She clicked over to the door and opened it.

Tony stood there in a navy blue suit with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. "You look...gorgeous," Tony said in awe. "Not too bad yourself," she said, straightening his tie. Damn, I always forget how good he looks in a nice suit. Pepper thought. "These are for you," he said, handing her the flowers. She blushed. They were azaleas, her favorite. "Thank you, Tony," she said, placing a light kiss on his lips.

He took her hand and walked out to his Audi. He opened the door for her and she climbed in. The drive was very relaxing with the sun setting behind them. Pepper reminded him many times that there was to be no giving away that they were there together.

They pulled up at the party and Pepper went in first. She walked over to the bar and pretended to be looking at the drink menu. Two minutes had passed and Tony was still nowhere in sight. She started to worry. Then he walked in.

Two brunette women started walking next to him, grabbing his arms and talking to him. Jealousy burned in Pepper's throat. He brushed them off and walked over to the bar next to her, keeping a respectful distance. "Hey, Mrs. Potts," he said, his eyes shimmering. She pushed down that feeling and cleared her throat. "Hello, Mr. Stark," she replied.

Just then a blonde woman came up to him and started to touch him, obviously drunk. "Hey, Stark, what brings you here?" She said, running her hand down his arm. Tony coughed. "I'll be right back," Pepper said. She walked to the bathroom, holding back tears. Why did we come tonight? Pepper asked herself. Her stomach felt sick and her heart felt heavy.

Meanwhile, Tony was trying to get away from this annoying girl but was struggling. "So you wanna dance?" Asked the girl. Tony looked down and shook his head, thinking of Pepper. "Oh come on, who are you with?" She asked. "No one," Tony squeezed. "Ok so let's dance," she said grabbing his arm. He stood his ground. "Please don't tell me you are with that uptight redhead chick," she said.

His heart burned hearing someone talk about Pepper like that. He didn't want to give away that they were together, so he caved. She pulled him onto the dance floor and put her hands on his shoulders. He stayed distant from her though.

Pepper walked back in. She scanned the room and then she saw it. Tony dancing with that blonde girl. Tony saw her. He saw the devastated look on her face. She turned and ran. It was too much. To see him with her, dancing, holding her waist.

Tony shook the girl away from him and started running after her. He followed her onto a balcony, only lit by the moon. She was weeping quietly on a chair when he got there. He wrapped his arms around her.

"I'm sorry, Pep. I really am. She was about to find out we were together, so I just caved in and danced with her. It was nothing more, I promise," Tony said quietly. She kept crying. "Pep?" Tony said hopelessly. She looked up. "It's fine I guess, its just not a good feeling when the guy you love has girls all over him goes around dancing with all of them," Pepper said between sobs. It was silent, besides the faint sound of the music.

"Pepper, did you say that you love me?" He asked softly. "Of course I love you, Tony. How could you not see that?" She replied wiping her face. "I- I love you too Pepper, so, so much," he said. She stood up and put her hands on his shoulders. She started swaying to the music. He put his hands on her waist and they danced.

They danced the night away on that balcony. Alone with each other. The faint sound of the music, the moonlight, the darkness, the love. It was unforgettable.
