- This chapter will be a bit shorter, I'm treating it mostly as an introductory chapter. -

"Have you heard?"

"Huh?"

"That boy.. that's Katsuki Bakugou."

"And what about it?"

"You should stay away from him.. rumor said he bullied a kid to his death in middle school.."

"That's terrible.."

"Definitely wouldn't want to be around him.."

"Didn't he threaten the teachers to get into UA?"

"Yeah. I heard he sent out death threats."

"He's so scary looking.."

"Just look at that scowl he's always got on his face.."

The rumors, the rumors that left the lips of the UA students day by day. The rumors that had destroyed his already no-good reputation. The rumors that had even led him to get kidnapped by the League of Villains themselves solely for the purpose of converting him. Just when Katsuki thought he had memorized them all, there came more.

"That Bakugou kid? Yeah... I heard he's in a gang.."

"What a scary guy.."

"Haven't you heard about how he beats up students after school to do his homework?"

"So that's why his grades are so good.."

Snap

The room was quiet, the only sounds in the room being led scratched on paper and the rhythm of Aizawa's chalk on the board.

The blonde glanced at the broken pencil in his palm, squeezed into 2 splintering pieces of wood. Some people shot him glares from across the classroom for breaking the silence. Katsuki buried his head in his arms atop his desk, hoping to drown out their stares.

Of course the rumors weren't true.. well, most of them. But the sad part was that they were so accurately fit to his personality and character, that they were inevitably believable.

But of course, they didn't bother him. They can call him a serial killer for all he cares. His life wasn't going to be any different based on the way others think of him. Let them say what they want, they would regret their words when he becomes the top hero.

"Bakugou."

Ah, his name was being spoken again. Wonder which rumor it'll be this time. Perhaps they're here to apologize after slightly bumping his shoulder in the hallway last week. Or maybe to confront him about some made-up shit going around UA.

"Bakugou.."

The blonde lifted his head up from his arms, only to be met with his teacher's sleep-deprived features.

"The bell rang 3 minutes ago. Are you feeling alright?"

Katsuki only let out a grunt in reply. Standing from his desk, he wrapped his bookbag tightly around his shoulder and exited the classroom.

Crowds were something he hated. Students filled the already crowded halls, heading to the lobby or their personal dorm rooms. The hallways were always loud during passing time, but after school they were typically even worse. Everyone was so happy to speak to each other and see their friends. Except for him. Dunce Face, as the boy called him, was obnoxious with his other obnoxious friends, Bug Eyes and that Tape boy. He didn't know their names, why should he bother anyways? If nobody cared for him then why should he care for others? But it seems like they had their place. And so did everybody else. Except for him. He seemed so.. out of place.

Katsuki never exactly knew what it was like to have his place. In elementary school and middle school, he was the leader. He never bothered to think of anyone as an equal because they didn't match up to his standards.

Though, he had someone he considered to be his friend.. once.

"Wow, you're so lucky! Your quirk is amazing, Kacchan!"

The green-haired boy ran after Katsuki, a smile was plastered on his freckled face. "When I get mine, I hope it's just as cool!" the boy giggled.

"Whatever, Deku! No matter what power you end up with, you'll never able to beat me!" The blonde boasted, marching forward through the chilling woods. And of course, the green-haired boy followed.

Katsuki stared at his feet, avoiding eye contact with anyone and everyone who might have a single word to say to him. Not like he was talked to a lot, anyways..

And while all of the other UA students laughed and talked with their friends in the crowded lobby, Katsuki would be alone in his dorm room. Unwanted and unneeded by others, the only one to bother him was himself and his own thoughts.

And it was fine this way. Right?

That Monday morning was supposed to be nothing special. Katsuki would wake up as always, go to school as always, and be avoided as always. Nothing very special ever happened at UA, at least not in his boring life.

That was until Aizawa made an announcement.

"I know we're nearing the middle of the year, but we have a new student that will be joining us," he began, starting to unzip his yellow sleeping bag. "He transferred from a different prestigious hero school across the country. I know it's sudden, but I do hope you can all treat him with respect."

Aizawa nodded at the door, signaling for the new student to come in. And at that sight, Katsuki was sure to go blind.

The boy who entered wore the biggest and brightest smile upon his face. Dimples lay upon his clear skin. His hair was red and long, but worn all spiked up with a great amount of hairspray. His smile was blinding, it was like looking directly at the sun. And when he spoke, his raspy voice was almost too soothing to hear. He was honestly quite attractive, not like Katsuki would admit that though.

"The names Eijirou Kirishima! I hope we can all get along!"

It was only natural that he was automatically a favorite among the students (and teachers) at UA. God, it was like a ball of sunshine enrolled into the class. People immediately started asking him questions about his quirk, his hobbies, even his love life.

Once the chatting died down a bit, Aizawa took it upon himself to assign the newly enrolled Kirishima a seat. His dark, tired eyes scanned the room, stopping at Katsuki. Or rather, behind him.

"You can sit in that open desk near the window."

The redhead nodded and made his way to his seat behind Katsuki. He gave a toothy smile to the blonde, revealing his perfectly straight, sharp teeth. All Katsuki could do was grunt and look away. It was too blinding of a sight.

Class seemed longer than usual, and it was hard to pay attention to anything other than the whispers between his classmates and the newcomer.

Great. Another nuisance has enrolled.
