Chapter 6: Past Friends

"Seán!?" yelled Chase in sheer disbelief.

"The one and only" said Sean as Chase pulled him into a hug.

"This is crazy! Why are you here?" asked Chase.

"Well, it's bit of a long story. More importantly how did you remember me so quickly; I thought your memory was gone?"

"I... don't actually know. Wait how did you know my memory was gone?"

"The answer to that ties in to my long story which I plan to tell you soon"

Everest eyed the pup. He was a Golden Retriever and looked to be the same age as Chase and herself. He seemed normal but there was something off about this whole situation. 

"Sorry to interrupt the moment but who are you?" asked Everest as the two friends turned their attention towards her.

"Oh right sorry. Everest this is Seán. He's an old friend from Germany" answered Chase.

"Nice to meet you" greeted Seán sticking out his paw.

"Nice to meet you to, but why were you following us?" questioned Everest as she shook his paw.

Seán looked around before answering.

"I'll tell you why, but not here. Let's just say they have ears everywhere. Do you have somewhere private we can talk?"

"Yeah we can head over to the Lookout. The others should probably be asleep by now anyway"

"Perfect" said Seán following the couple to Chase's car.

After strapping themselves in they headed to the Lookout. 

When they got there they carefully walked to Chase's room. Thankfully everyone was asleep so it was easy to sneak in.

"So I'll ask again, why were you following us?" 

"I was following you to make sure you guys were safe. Chase, when I got you out of Germany I brought you here to Ryder. I was hoping that the people that made me bring you here would stay in Germany. I was wrong, they recently found out your location and will do everything in their power to take you down" said Sean.

Chase just sat there dumbfounded. 

"Wow... that's a lot to take in at once. Is there anything else that I need to know?"

"Not as of now. If there's anything else I'll be sure to let you know"

"Ok thanks Seán. It's great to see you again. I guess I'll see you tomorrow"

"With all do respect Chase, this is a threat that you don't know much about. I'm staying with you to make sure you'll be safe" 

"That's fine. The only problem is there's one extra bed and two others without a bed. " said Chase. 

"Well can't Everest sleep with you. You guys are dating right?"

The couple then began to blush.

"I-I mean yeah but we just starting dating not to long ago" said Chase.

"I-I mean, I don't mind if you don't mind" said Everest.

"Oh, okay. Let me just get the extra bed then" said Chase as he left the room.

With Chase gone the remaining two sat in silence until Everest broke it.

"Listen Seán, you seem like a good guy and Chase seems to trust you and all, but I can't trust you. At least not right now"
