Chapter 31

Emma woke up with Timothy moving her on the bed. “Ano ba yan Timothy natutulog ako oh.” Emma said annoyed to what her brother just did to her in between her sleep but Timothy didn’t mind what she said.

“Ate may mga tao sa paligid, sabi ni nanay ay parang suspicious sila and she have a thought na mga tauhan ito ni Giovanni.” Sabi ni Timothy at agad siyang dali-daling bumangon at nag-ayos nang sarili bago bumaba sa kanilang bahay.

Emma saw her family peeking on the curtains of the window, she was confused bakit sarado ang lahat nang bintana.

“Emma there are mens outside the area, hindi man silang literal na nagbabantay but their action was so suspicious.” Sabi nang kaniyang nanay sa kaniya, she immediately peeked on the curtains only to saw some carriages near their house.

Their house was in a small hill with no nearby houses, nagtataka siya talaga na may nag tambay na dalawang kalesa malapit sa kanila.

Emma couldn’t stop herself from facing the men leaning on their carriages. “Are you sure you want to do this dear?” Tanong sa kaniya ni Diana nang bubuksan na sana ni Emma ang pintuan.

“Yes, Don’t worry I’m okay, if anything happens call someone immediately.” Emma said at agad silang tumangong lahat.

Emma got out of their house, he was now walking on the group of men lighting their own ciggaretes while leaning on their carriages.

“A good day gentlemen.” Emma greeted them at agad na nag bow as an act of formal greeting.

“Good day young miss, ganda mo ngayon ah.” Sabi nang isang lalaki at agad nag tawanan ang kaniyang mga kasama sa kaniya but Emma’s face remained stoic as she face them.

“Walang galang na po pero bakit kayo nandito? This is our land and you didn’t even ask permission on us to stay here. This is actually trespassing.”

“Ah ganun ba miss, we’re terribly sorry for that we’ll get going now. We just want to have a place to stay for a moment. Kapos na kami talagang makakita nang isang magandang babae.” Sabi nang lalaki habang pinagmamasdan siya at agad naman silang tumawa nang malakas.

Emma didn’t react, she just let them laugh until they stopped. “But seriously who are you to tell me that? Wala naman dito ang tatay mo. You’re just weak, woman like you should be staying home and make us men be joyed everytime we want to.” Sabi nang lalaki at agad naman silang tumawa, Emma can’t hold her hand kaya agad niyang nasampal ang lalaki nang napakalakas that he made the man turned his head.

“I’m sorry but you talk too much, get out of our land kung hindi ay isusumbong ko kayo sa pulis as an act of trespassing.” Sabi ni Emma sa kanila at agad silang galit na tumingin sa kaniya lalo na ang lalaking sinampal niya.

“We’ll see what will you get young lady.” The man said with those dark stares at agad silang nagsimulang umalis.

Emma was not even afraid of the man kaya agad niya lang itong tinanaw na lumayo mula sa kinaroroonan nila kanina.

When Emma got back from the house, Phoebe then asked her, “What happened?! Bakit mo sinampal yung lalaki?”

“He talks to much kaya hindi ko napigil. At least they’ve walked away rather than staying here with those attitudes.” Emma said at agad na lumakad papunta sa kusina para kumuha nang tubig.

The rest of them are shock of what she did but they assume that she did the right thing, the only thing that worried Emily was what if those men will come back and have their little revenge.
