Carlos and Cecil both were getting ready for work when a problem arose, what about Dipper and Mabel? At first Carlos was going to skip work and take them on a tour, but one of his scientists called in sick and asked Carlos to keep an eye on one of their experiments.

After some debate they settled on taking the twins to the radio station with Cecil, which wasn't nearly as interesting as a tour or even Carlos' lab, but it was the best they could do short of letting them run around on their own, which was not advised considering how many things lurk in the shadows there.

Everyone was settling in at the station, Mabel was messing around with a keyboard that made different sound effects and Dipper was writing in a journal he took with him. Cecil was just starting up his show.

"Panic! At the Disco, Worry! At the Nightclub, Anxiety! at the Party, Welcome to Nightvale."

He pressed the purple button on the sound board and the opening theme began to play. He did his usual exercises, clearing his throat and opening his third eye, and began his broadcast.

After a long day of broadcasting, most of it fairly unimportant news, his show was finally over. At this point Dipper had fallen asleep in the chair he was in and Mabel had been pestering the intern for at least a half an hour. Cecil gently woke up Dipper and they set out to go see what was up at the lab.

Carlos was still busy when they got there, tending to various beakers and vials.

"Sorry, we just got a lead on the whole wheat and wheat byproducts turning into snakes thing, I might not be home for awhile, why don't you guys go ahead and go without me and get pizza or something?"

He poured a drop of something onto a bread roll and a bit of purple gas rose up. He quickly rushed to pull out a different vial and pour another liquid on it, this one changing the gas a light cyan. He sighed in relief.

Dipper turned to Cecil.

"Is it alright if I stay here and help him?"

Cecil looked at Carlos.

"If it's alright with Carlos I have no objections."

Carlos nodded and Dipper trotted up to his side.

Cecil and Mabel stood in the doorway, unsure what to do next.  Eventually Mabel broke the silence.

"Hey, do you know anywhere I can get some craft supplies?"

He looked down at her.

"Hmm? Oh yeah, Joanne Fabrics sells some craft supplies."

Mabel's face lit up.

"Alrighty then! Lead the way to Joanne Fabrics."

And so, like any good Nightvale Citizen when told in a demanding and confident voice to do something, he did.

"You know, you remind me of my Great Uncle Ford."

"Yeah, I could tell when your sister called me that on the bus."

Dipper was writing a few things down in his notebook as Carlos was still doing experiments to the bread roll.

"I don't mean it as an insult, I really look up to Ford."

"I've heard about him,"

Carlos stepped back from his science experiment and sat in the chair next to him.
