Bea loved to host parties. She had hosted another one the night before to celebrate Sage and Aidan's engagement. Unfortunately, her stubborn daughter wanted a long engagement. Bea couldn't understand why they wouldn't marry and give her grandchildren. Patience, her darling Bill had taught her the importance of patience. Every time she announced another party, Bill would smile and shake his head. She was lucky to have a man who cherished her. Sage had that with Aidan. Unfortunately, some other matches were not so lucky.

Bea's mind wandered to Brenna as she walked through the dew soaked grass towards her garden. She had watched the girl slip out of the house just a few moments before with the weight of the world on her shoulders. Reaching the fountain, Bea watched the goldfish swim in the basin. Poor Brenna had been concerned about hitting a fish. Bea knew for many years the boys purposely tried to hit her fish. The fish lived through everything, including New England winters, although Julio never told her if any didn't.

Bea wasn't worried about Brenna finding true love. Her handsome doctor looked at her the same way Aidan looked at Sage. Men had trouble hiding their feelings, and Bea didn't mean lust. She could tell the difference and had seen plenty of both in her ballroom. The pain hiding behind his expressive brown eyes could make a girl weep, especially the girl who loved him.

The Reillys had become a part of Bea's family. Brenna, the serious girl, and Mia, the dreamer, were both sisters to Sage. Mia missed the party, but she had attended others. A kin to Bea's heart, the young girl believed in the fountain and was waiting for her wish to come true. Bea was impulsive and lacked patience at her age, but not anymore. She was looking forward to seeing how her fountain guided all the children she loved to happiness.

First Brenna. Bea threw the coin she had clenched in her fist. As it sailed into the fountain, she wished for the walls to crumble between Brenna and her young doctor. Turning, she walked back towards the house. Rosa would be in the kitchen preparing breakfast for her guests. Bea knew she would need some extra help. Rosa hadn't confided in her, but Bea was certain she had good news to share. Another of Bea's wishes had come true.

Thanks for reading Brenna and Noah's story.  We have one more Reilly sibling.  I wrote Mia's story on a whim for something different.  When I finished it, I decided I should go back and write her brother and sister's stories.  I never expected a whole series.

Thanks for reading and voting ⭐️
