Airi tightens her hold of the Colosseum's now eldest child, her sobbing died down to quiet hiccups, in a silent plea not to go. She hears the cheering and excited murmur getting louder every passing second.
"Don't you believe in me?" Airi would like to get disappointed at her for doubting Airi's trust but Airi knows the reason why she was saying it, it was to make her let go. She shouldn't have but she let go of the Colosseum's flower child. Airi's dainty voice that was filled with faith, reaches gently to the only person she considers family."I believe in you, Hanako nee-san"
Hanako's boisterous laughter fills up the waiting room, a warm feeling grows as the smaller girl displays her absolute trust in her. Airi trusts Hanako with all her heart but being concerned was something that was just prevalent in her. After all, Hanako and Itsuki were all she has. All she had. A pang in her heart stabs her soul as she remembers that it wasn't Hanako, Airi, and Itsuki anymore. It was just Hanako and Airi. She wants to cling to her fear and desperation to make sure that Hanako stays beside her but the gleam in Hanako's eyes, the silent question to believe in her reaches Airi. It was the same look Itsuki had. She'd like to give that look another chance.
"Hanako, you're up". The door opens to Kichirō, the children's keeper. An old, fat man who kept the children in line and taught them the most basic things. Hanako stands up to follow Kichirō, sending Airi a last, gentle smile.
Airi shouldn't have given that look another chance
