"Onee-san, aren't you going to tuck us in?" Daiki tugs Airi's skirt, hugging a teddy bear in his left arm. She smiles fondly at the kid, she takes his hand in hers and heads towards the ten-year-olds' room. Their age gap wasn't that big but Daiki had always acted the most childlike compared to the other ten-year-olds. She opens the door that had a big number "10" painted on it.

Hinata was wiping her round glasses and Kaede was wrapped with multiple blankets like a burrito. They turn towards Airi when she opened the door and their faces brighten considerably. Airi shoots them a smile as Daiki basically drags her to the bed. He climbs up and dives under the sheets making Airi snort.

"Tuck us in, onee-san!"

Hinata furrows her eyebrows angrily before sticking her nose in the air, "We're not kids anymore, we don't need to get tucked in"

"Speak for yourself, Hinata. Tuck us in!" Kaede smiles brightly, flashing pearly whites at Airi.

"But you're already tucked in! You look like a burrito!" Airi snorts at Kaede.

"Like a mummy! Mummy!" Daiki exclaims, hitting his palms repeatedly on his pillow out of excitement

Airi tilts her head, "Mummy? Like a mother?"

"Nooo, a mummy!" He grabs something inside his bedside drawers. He takes out a book and flips to certain page. "I asked for an encyclopedia but I don't really know if this is an encyclopedia. It's about every country and things they're famous for, this one-"

Daiki points to a page full of pictures of sands and triangular mountains, he shows a certain part. "Here. It says Egypt is also known for preserving dead bodies of either humans or animals by exposure to chemicals. Isn't that cool?"

Hinata pushes her glasses up before putting her arms in an "X" sign, "Yuck! Who would want that? It would smell so bad"

Kaede adds on from his bed, "Yeah, remember that time when Daisy was in the punishment cell for half a year? She died and her body started rotting, it was so disgusting."

Their talking halts to a stop as they recall what happened to Daisy. The punishment cell is a disciplining method when the kids do something very bad. You enter a square cell, that was big enough that you could be able to stand but small enough when you sit down you won't be able to stretch your legs. They only give you food and water every five days. The kids stay there depending on how severe their crime was. Daisy had tried to escape using her quirk and she was imprisoned in the punishment cell for half a year. What they didn't realize was by the end of the fourth month, she already was starving herself as means of suicide. The cell had always smelled of dead bodies so they didn't notice when the stench of death wasn't coming from the cell anymore. It was terrifying. No one ever attempted an escape ever again. Seeing them carry Daisy's dead body was enough to traumatize them.

Daiki's soft voice whispers, "I don't want to see that again. Kaede, Hinata, and onee-san. Let's promise each other when we get out of here, we'll meet each other again"

"Mmhm, let's promise," Kaede says, supporting Daiki.

Airi abruptly stands up from the bed, eyes wide, not having enough courage to even look the others. She takes hasty steps toward the door, "Goodnight"

Before slamming it.

Akihiko blankly stares at the ceiling as he lay in his bed. His heart wrenching hearing the hushed sobs of the girl beside him. Her shoulders were shaking as she tries to quiet herself. Akihiko felt guilty at the relief that he had entered when he was eleven and not ten. He never had to experience the New Year's Party. He felt bad for the three, going to the New year's party blindly but it was the rules and they were not allowed to tell the other kids what was about to happen. Or else they would go to the punishment cell. Akihiko was closer with everyone but the three were especially close to Airi. He hopes that this won't break her too much.
