The door slipped shut and I waited for one, two, three minutes for Louis to say something. Still, he was silent. I almost thought he had fallen back asleep until he shifted slightly on my lap and sat up. I immediately shivered at the lack of warmth.

"So?" Louis asked, settling against the back of the couch, his body facing me.

"So... what?" I furrowed my eyebrows at how nonchalant he was being now, considering he had had two panic attacks in the last 6 hours.

"Start asking," Louis crossed his arms, shutting himself off from me. Oh boy. It was gonna be a long night. "I know you have questions," he said sharply when I didn't say anything.

"Um..." I gulped, feeling uncomfortable with the cold, unhappy Louis sitting in front of me, now raising an eyebrow as he waited for my question. This was definitely not the side of this boy I was used to, but I knew it was just a defense mechanism for him when he too felt uncomfortable. So, deciding to be brave, I took a deep breath and asked.

"Why... Why did you have a panic attack? I mean-- the... the first time," I stuttered, trying to be sensitive to his feelings and not wanting Louis to change his mind about talking to me at all.

"I already told you. I talked to me mum," Louis replied.

"That's it?" I was puzzled. "You're afraid of Jay?"

"What?" Louis looked shocked. "Of course not!"

"Then... well- I'm confused," I huffed, trying so desperately to understand.

"During the movie, I fell asleep," Louis said, eyes flicking all around the room so as not to meet my own. I hummed and nodded, deciding to just let him talk and I could talk after.

"And then- then I had a really bad dream, so when I woke up, and uh, everyone else was still napping, I called me mum," Louis shrugged. "Just- talking to her calms me down, you know?"

I nodded.

"But- but then I saw you, outside of the bathroom, and I- I thought you heard my conversation, and I- wait, did you?" Louis locked eyes with me and I was caught off guard.

"What? No! No, of course not! I couldn't hear anything," I said quickly, telling the truth. Louis seemed indifferent so I waited silently for him to continue. "But you know I wouldn't judge you, whatever it was that you were talking about."

"I know," Louis sighed. He shifted closer on the couch so our shoulders were touching and he drew his legs up to his chest. "I want to tell you. I do." I was shocked. "It's just hard," Louis confessed.

"I'm here, Boo. You trust me, yeah?"

"Yeah, always," Louis said without hesitation. "Well, I guess I never told you how my parents got divorced."

I stayed silent, so Louis would continue talking, but I was confused that all of this was because of his... parents? But Louis loves Jay, so so much...

"I was seven. Lottie was five. (just pretend that would be true!) Mum was pregnant with the twins. She- uh, she didn't know anything at the time. It wasn't until she came home early from work one time and found us."
