Your P.O.V:

The very next day, I went over to Granny's to work my shift. I worked my five hours, taking my lunch break in between 1:50 to 2:00. Once I finished my work, I decided to go around town. Whenever I like to go around town, I usually walk into Mr. Gold's shop to see if he has anything I would like to buy.

I told Ruby and Granny my goodbyes and made my way to Mr. Gold's shop. The bell rang as I entered the shop. Mr. Gold was standing behind the counter as he cleaned an antique.

"Hello Mr. Gold." I said.

"Hello Ms. Blanchard." He replied. "How are you doing?" He asked.

"I"m fine, thanks for asking." I replied. "How's your day so far?" I asked. Mr. Gold didn't respond so I looked around the shop until something caught my eye. It was a top hat with a purple ribbon around it.

It had a card sticking out of it and also a flower. I grabbed it gently from its spot. The hat was old but it looked as if it was made just yesterday.

I thought it was a fancy hat so I looked for the price tag. $20.99, it read. I checked my wallet and found enough cash to buy the hat. I smiled and walked over to the counter.

"I would like to buy this." I said, placing the hat down on the counter. I placed the money down next to the hat. Mr. Gold picked up the money and counted it. Once he finished counting the cash, he put it in the cashier and handed the hat to me.

"It's all yours Ms. Blanchard."

"Thank you." I smiled and left the shop, heading back home.

The next day.....

My mom called me as I ate my lunch. She said that she had a date with Dr. Whale tonight at Granny's and hoped that it would go well.

"It will go well." I told her. "Just be yourself." Mom chuckled a little.

"Thanks sweetie." She said before hanging up. I finished up eating my lunch and went back to work. Emma, looking exhausted, walked in and took a seat. I walked over and sat across from her.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"I've been kicked out of the hotel I was staying at." She explained.

"So where have you been staying?" I asked.

"I've been sleeping in my car." Emma responded. I flinched at the thought of sleeping in a car.

"Can I get scrambled eggs with bacon on the side?" She asked. "Oh and coffee?" I smiled and gave the order to the cook. A couple of minutes later, Emma received her scrambled eggs with bacon on the side and coffee.

I decided to take the night shift so I could see how mom's date would go. Ruby and I planned to make Mom's date the best, without ruining it or anything bad that could happen.

Mom and Dr. Whale walked in and I went over to the jukebox, to see how it would go. They had a nice, small talk going on before Dr. Whale began eyeing Ruby. Mom noticed this, said something, and left. I sighed and changed back into my regular clothes. I walked home, feeling kinda sad that my mom's date didn't go well.

I was sitting in bed, waiting for sleep to come over me, when I heard a knock on the door.  I got up and opened the door but there was no one there. I looked around to see if anyone was there, ready to prank me or something like that, but all I saw was a letter. I picked it up.
