Your P.O.V:

"How much longer to we have to keep walking kiddo?" I asked Henry, half an hour after we walked into town.

"Not that much further." He pointed to Granny's diner.

"My mom should be in there." Emma walked out even before we could walk in. She seemed frustrated.

"Henry! What are you doing here?!" She exclaimed.

"I'm here to help!" He explained. Emma looked at me.

"I'm so sorry if he-."

"Don't worry! I volunteered willingly." I told Emma. She gave out a sigh of relief.

"So where do you think Ashley went?" I asked.

"Ruby said she'd probably be at her ex-boyfriend's place." Emma said.

"I'm gonna check the woods in case."I said. She nodded and off we went.

My feet were feeling sore once I had made it to the forest trail. I should've bought a car a long time ago.

My right leg gave out as I passed a weird looking rock. I sat down on the ground as a rubbed my sore leg. 

Crack!

I quickly looked in the direction of the noise. The leaves on the ground cracked as someone walked my way. I readied myself with a stick. I swung it at the person but they caught.

"Watch where you're swinging that!" Jefferson exclaimed. I covered my mouth.

"Oh my gosh! Jefferson?" 

"The one and only." He bowed. I ran up and gave him a hug.

"You scared the heck outta me." I told him.

"I didn't mean too. Anyway, I can help you out." He said.

"How?" I asked.

"I think I know where to find the Ashley girl." He explained. He grabbed my hand and literally dragged me all the way to the road. Emma's yellow buggie drove by. 

"Um, Jefferson," I said, "I don't think Emma driving by was a good think."

"How so?" He asked.

"Well, she is deputy and searching for Ashley." I explained. 

"Well then we better hurry. Something horrible could have happened." Jefferson and I made our way to Ashley's destination. There, Emma was helping Ashley get into the buggie. She cried out in pain.

"Emma, Ashley!"  I called out. "What happened?" 

"She is about to have her baby." Emma exclaimed. "I've got to take her to the hospital." 

"Allow me to help." I said. I opened the door and helped Emma get Ashley in the car. Once Ashley was in, Emma drove away.

"Now what?" Jefferson asked. 

"We should head to the hospital." I replied.

We made it to the hospital in half the time it would take if we walked. Emma was talking to Mr. Gold. I couldn't hear what was going on, but I didn't care. Once Emma was done talking to Mr. Gold, I went over to her.

"Hey." She said, folding her arms.

"Hey." I replied. "How's Ashley?" I asked.

"She's doing fine. She's in there with her baby and ex-boyfriend."Emma explained. I smiled.

Jefferson and I were walking back home. There was an awkward silence between us. I felt really weird. So I tried to start a conversation. 

"So, um. Hi." I said. He looked at me, puzzled.

"Um, hi." He replied. I laughed.

"Oh my gosh!!!" I exclaimed. "I'm so bad at starting conversations." WHY IS IT SO HARD!?!? I yelled inside my head.
