Your P.O.V:

I rolled over the bed and landed on the ground. I groaned.

"Why me?" I asked. I stood up and went back to bed. There was a tapping noise coming from the window. I groaned again. I got out of bed and went to the window. The little blue bird was standing on the windowsill with a letter in its mouth. It tilted its head at me. "Hello there." I said. The bird dropped the letter on the windowsill and cooed. I picked up the letter.

Dearest, Y/n,

Sorry if I may have interrupted your beauty sleep. I had this crazy idea to contact you with birds. If you want, you can write a letter, give it to the bird, and he'll fly back to me with your message. Or you can text me with your phone, it's your choice. Also, are you by any chance available today?

Yours Truly,

Jefferson.

I smiled. He really knows how to do that. I grabbed my phone and texted him back.

Me: Dear Jefferson, I received your letter and don't worry, you didn't really interrupt my beauty sleep. I am available today around noon. Can't wait to see you then.

I sent the text. The bird cooed at me.

"Are you hungry?" I asked him. He cooed again. I went into the kitchen and grabbed a slice of bread. I split it in two and gave a half to the bird. He munched it quickly and flew away.

DING!

I looked at my phone. It was another message from Jefferson.

Jefferson: Another bird is coming your way.

Me: okay.

I looked out the window and saw another bird flying my way. It dropped the letter on the windowsill. I fed it the other slice of bread. I picked up the note.

Dearest, Y/n,

Great! I'll pick you up and 2:30 then.

Love,

Jefferson.

I felt my heart flutter. He put, "Love, Jefferson." He really must care for me. I picked up my phone again.

Me: See at two thirty then.

I sent the message. Today was gonna be great.

*Timeskip brought to you by your conscience*

I walked out of the ladies room at Granny's, dressed in jeans and a F/c t-shirt. Jefferson sitting in one of the booths waiting for me.

"Hey." I said, taking a seat across from him.

"Hey." He replied. "You ready?" He asked. I nodded.

"Where are we going today?"

"Wherever you want." He replied. "Where do you wish to go?" I thought about this for a moment.

"Would it be okay for us to visit the town's dock?" I asked.

"It certainly would be okay." He replied. I smiled. Taking my hand, Jefferson took me to the town's dock.

"This is where mom and I had our first Mother- daughter bonding time." I explained. "It's also where I had my fourth birthday." Jefferson gazed at me, smiling. I smiled back.

"So Y/n, I was wondering if you believe in fairytales." He said. I looked at him.

"I guess I DO believe them, like having a happy ending is real, but to think of them as real stories, no." I replied.

Jefferson's P.O.V:

"So Y/n, I was wondering if you believe in fairytales." I asked her. Y/n looked up at me.

"I guess I DO believe them, like having a happy ending is real, but to think of them as real stories, no." She replied. I sighed. I leaned against the dock's railing and stared out at the sea. It was going to be hard to get Y/n believing. "Hey Jefferson, are doing okay?" She asked me. I shook my head.

"No, I've been... stressed out lately." I replied.

"If you need anyone to talk to, I'm here for you." She replied. I smiled.

"Thanks." Y/n rested her head on my shoulder and we both stared out at the sea. Our thoughts were interrupted by a loud, distant explosion.
