Munhee spent the rest of her week similarly. Mourning for her sister, taking care of the twins, dreading Baekhyun's presence a little more and that's all.
And it was finally the day. Weekend. The decision making day. She had already made her decision on the very moment when her mother suggested or more like requested her for the marriage thing. But there were so many uncertainties throbbing inside her head that she had to stop thinking about all those irking thoughts and leave it all on the hands of her family and of course Baekhyun.
Marriage wasn't a one sided thing. So, Baekhyun's opinion was definitely going to have equal weight as hers. She was almost certain that Baekhyun will chastise whoever will dare to suggest him about his second marriage. And if the suggested bride was Munhee, then the possibility could be worse.
One thing on which Munhee was determined, that she wanted to make Baekhyun realize that she had nothing to do with Myunghee's accident, it was nothing but a nasty gash of fate that managed to shatter all of their lives together. Getting married or not, she didn't want to witness the layer of hatred and disappointment in his eyes that he'd been showing her recently. She had already lost her sister, she didn't want to loose her sister's close ones.
She already let her mother know about her worrisome thoughts and her mother assured her that she'd try to placate Baekhyun's thoughts on her.
Munhee was in the kitchen, preparing omelet for Miseo and Sarang as for their breakfast, when she heard someone clearing their throat. She turned and widened her eyes slightly to see Baekhyun approaching her for the first time in the whole week.
"Do you w-want something?" Munhee was definitely nervous. All the circumstances surrounding the both of them bound to make her nervous, she couldn't get out of it.
Baekhyun hummed, picking up a glass to pour water from the filter, eyes darting here and there, not exactly looking at her.
Baekhyun took his time to gulp down a whole glass of water, putting the glass back on the counter, then cleared his throat before finally settling his sight on her.
"Are you busy?" He asked and only then Munhee remembered she was preparing omelets and by the smell of it she could only guess while winching how awfully it got burned.
She whipped around instantly, cursing under her breath at her stupidly nervous ass, turned off the electric stove.
She felt embarrassed for presenting a burned up food in front of him. He might think of her as a good for nothing cook. Though it's partially true because she seldom tried cooking in her house, but hey! Let the girl have her embarrassed moment!! She tried!!
Baekhyun stood in silence, watching her first class embarrassing moment without passing any teasing comment, whereas in other situation, in past, he would've pulled her legs for her failed attempt. The thought send a pang in her chest, their once friendly bickering relation now turned into something suffocatingly silent.
"I was." Munhee sighed, eyeing her burned omelet. "But I guess I'll have to call mom for help now." She involuntarily pouted.
"If you can't cook then order food from outside. There's no need for hassle." Baekhyun said while eyeing her spoilt food.
"No, it's for the babies. Outside food is not good for them." She protested immediately, forgetting her embarrassment.
"Oh." Baekhyun and Munhee stood there awkwardly. Both of them not knowing what to say or how to actually initiate some serious talk that the both of them knew they should start.
Their awkward moment got interrupted, fortunately, by Munhee and Baekhyun's mother.
"Aigoo, why did you burn it? You never burn omelet in our house." Munhee's mother said while showcasing a nervous laughter, justifying to Baekhyun and his mother that her daughter could cook the simple foods without facing any problem.
"Sorry mom, I got distracted." Munhee bit her lips, she didn't want to offend Baekhyun by calling him a distraction, but she already did.
"Uh I came here to talk to her. It's my fault." Baekhyun said while scratching his head.
Both of their mothers' eyes widened with a twinkle, that had went missing after Myunghee. But the slight happy twinkle was back even for a moment, making Munhee a little bit better about her decision.
"It's okay Baekhyun. You guys should go somewhere and talk, we'll manage the breakfast." Baekhyun's mother patted her son's arm and gestured them to go out of the kitchen.
Baekhyun nodded and went out of there without sparing Munhee any second glance.
Munhee stood there contemplating, whether she should follow along or wait for him to call her.
Munhee's mother cleared her confusion when she said, "Why are you still here? Go." She gave her a slight push.

Munhee followed Baekhyun till outside, towards the garden.
The garden was Myunghee's favorite place among the whole house. It bloomed with different colored roses, her sister's favorite flower. The air was fresh and the scent of fresh plants and flowers sent peaceful waves inside her.
Also seeing Baekhyun finally out of the darkness of his bedroom, sitting on the single bench inside the garden, lightened up her heart.
Munhee tentatively sat beside him. Waiting for him to start, as he was the one to approach her in the first place.
"I assume you're aware of the proposal our parents have put in front of us?" He asked after he finished trailing his eyes over the blooming red roses to the new baby trees.
"Yes, mom talked to me."
"Have you thought about it?" He was now looking at her, his full attention on her, waiting for her answer.
"Yes. I've already made my decision. And waiting for yours." Munhee didn't want to twist and turn her answers so she bravely accepted her decision that she kept inside her the whole week.
For a few moments Baekhyun kept silent. Then he sighed before saying, "I am in no place to decide anything. Because if I am to decide, I'd never , not for a single moment, would think of the possibility of anyone else as my wife and my children's mother. But in this situation, I can't be selfish, I'd have to prioritize my children's needs and I'm aware that they need a mother figure in their lives."
Baekhyun continued after a short break, "I just want you to know that the purpose of this marriage is solely the babies. We won't have any kind of marital relationship. You'll forever be my wife's sister for me. And I want you to respect the boundaries we had when your sister was still there." Munhee half choked inside, she didn't even think of these sides, her thoughts were limited till raising the kids and acting as married couple in front of everyone.
"I get it. I agreed to be Miseo and Sarang's legal mother. I don't want anything else either." Munhee added.
"Good for you." Baekhyun lastly said and left the bench to go inside the house again.
