A second scream sounded, pulling me back to reality and away from my memories. Without thinking, I found myself charging towards the screamer and awaiting Josh's familiar face.

Instead, I was greeted by a third squeal of terror, that bounced off the trees surrounding me. Panting like a dog, I finally reached the clearing, where the screeches were evaporating from. Once again, my stomach plummeted into my shoes at what met my eye.

Similar to Josh's room, what looked like school uniform had been scattered throughout the trees, torn to pieces; a thick pool of blood was smeared across the forest floor, surrounding a light purple backpack. On the backpack, were six blood splattered letters; Millie.

To my left, something twitched as it caught my eye. Instantly, I froze. My head slowly turned until my heart stopped; my heart stopped along with my breathing, my eyes widened, my jaw fell open. All because of what I saw.

Two shoes.

School shoes.

But that wasn't what terrified me.

The shadow of a young girl who I assumed was Millie lay on the floor.

Wearing the shoes.
