Without thinking, I leapt up from the chair and backed away to the wall behind me. I mentally face palmed myself for scaring it off. But it wasn't gone.
Sweat beaded on my forehead and trickled down my temple. My hands grew clammy at my sides and my heart skipped a beat every so often.
I had never been scared of ghosts. But this... This wasn't a ghost.
I was mentally and physically trembling.
"Emily! Tea's ready!" My Mum yelled from down stairs, terrorizing Josh's silhouette. It disappeared. It vanished.
It morfed into my wardrobe then disintegrated into a stony breeze, ruffling my curtains.
It was gone.
For now.
