CHAPTER THREE

  At Luke’s office  (Brown vest, brown tie, lavender shirt, brown slim fit pants and brown shoes) as he was going through files and kept checking some correspondence on his computer his best friend Shane knocked on the door and went in without waiting for an answer.
  “Mark” he called Luke
  “Shane my office is not your house where you can just walk in and call out Mark even in public bathrooms you knock before you open the door and for million times for others they can call me Mark but as for you I told you” then Luke looked up at Shane “I’m not my father call me Luke now what do you want?”
  “Geez nowadays you are so sensitive”
Luke stopped reading his file and sat back on his chair and stared at Shane with a serious face “Really and what level do you think my sensitiveness is at right this second?”
Shane swallowed hardly “More of 0, 0”
  “Which means what exactly?” Luke asked
  “It went to pissed off level” Shane replied
  “And what happens when I get pissed off Shane?”
Shane walked slowly to Luke’s table and handed him the file “Please sign there before I get fired from my job”
Luke read the file and signed at the bottom and handed back to him Shane walked backwards smiling at Luke
  “Have a good day Mr Mark”
  “Shane you are…” Luke shouted standing up from his chair
Shane cut it him off “No… I mean Luke, I’ll head back to my work” Luke sat back down to his chair still looking at Shane who slowly opened the door behind him and quickly went out closed the door.
Luke looked at the door “Old Luke Mark is still alive and well” then he smiled and continued going through the files he was busy with then he picked up his office phone and made a call to his secretary
Phone rang:
  “Mr Mark”
  “Kim can you bring the LA budget file to my office please”
  “Yes Mr Mark”
Luke hung up the phone and continued to work his cell phone rang it was his mother then there was a knock on the door secretary Kim opened the door
  “Good afternoon mom, how are you?” Luke said
  “I’m good sweetheart and how are you?” Luke’s mother asked
Secretary Kim handed the file to him “Thank you, I’m good mom why do I owe your call in this pleasant afternoon?”
Luke’s mother sighed over the phone “Do I need time schedule to call my own son, I’m your mother not one of your workers Luke.”
  “Oh mom I didn’t mean like that of cause you can call me anytime you wish, so is everything okay?”
  “Yes dear I just wanted to check if you are still remembered about this weekend”
  “Yes mom I’ll see you Friday in the evening”
  “Oh okay good it’s about time you came home plus there is someone I need you to meet over the weekend.”
  “Okay mom I have to go now will see you soon I love you.”
  “I love you too sweet heart enjoy the rest of your day bye”
  “Bye mom” Luke hung up the phone “Called to check if I remembered about this weekend as if she will let me forget that it’s her and dad anniversary.”
Shane knock and open the door “Luke” walking to inside.
Luke stare at him “You were just here what do you want now?” sitting back at his chair
  “Don’t be like that I missed you dude you were in LA for a week, anyway forget all that did you do it?” Shane asked making hands gesture on the air.
  “Do what?”
  “Tell your parents about Bianca?”
  “No they will meet her when we get there”
Shocked Shane quickly sits down “Are you insane dude, you know how your mom can be at times you can’t just take her along she’s 5”
  “Shane relax all will be fine” Luke whispered and Shane shook his head not believing what his was hearing 
Shane just stared at Luke “Do you have some sort of a death wish this week does Bianca even know about this brilliant idea of yours?”
  “Yes and No.”
Shane kept on staring at Luke “Well which one is it?”
  “Both yes she knows about the anniversary but no for taking her along with me” Luke said while turning his chair to the window
  “You may look the other way but Luke it seems like you are forgetting your own girlfriend buddy” Shane stood up and walked to the door Luke just stared at him until he left the office then he turned his chair around and remembered what Shane just said
Shane’s voice:
  “You may look the other way but Luke it seems like you are forgetting your own girlfriend buddy”
Luke brushed his eyebrow with his thumb finger lost in thought he turned around again taking the phone
  “Hello sir”
  “Emily can you hold the rest of my calls for the day?”
  “Yes sir”
  “Thank you Emily”
He hung up the phone
He called his driver “Mike bring the car around at the front”
  “Yes Mr Mark” Mike replied
Luke took his phone and switching off his computer he stood up and left his office and walked out of his company while his driver waiting for him at the entrance Mike opened the door for Luke he got inside and Mike got at the front and drove off.
On the way Luke looked outside the window holding his chin he remembered a moment when Bianca was mad at him
Bianca voice:
  “You know what, despite being rich and tall you are the most stupidest person I know in this world Luke Mark”
He returned to his senses “Huh Mike?”
Mike looked at the rear mirror “Sir”
  “Quick stop you know where” Luke whispered
Mike smiled a bit “Yes sir”
Later at Luke’s house he opened the door hiding something on his bag “Babe”
I peeked on him from behind the wall and ran to him then jumped on him laughing I rapped my legs around his waist he held on my butt I hugged him and kissed his neck.
I looked at him “You are home early”
  “I missed you and yes that’s the benefit of owning a company I can go whenever I please” Luke whispered
I stared at him “Right, if I didn’t know you I would have believed you start talking Luke Mark”
  “Do you me know that well?”
  “I afraid so out with it”
He breathed out heavily “I’m taking you to my parent’s anniversary this weekend so you can meet my family”
My face went cold “What, you are joking right?” he shook his head “Luke you can’t be serious”
  “I’m dead serious babe I’ve been together for so long I want you to meet my family it’s not that big of deal”
  “Not a big deal, not a big deal you want me to meet your family at your parent’s anniversary and you say it’s not a big deal really?”
  “Okay maybe just a little but don’t worry they gonna love you, you are simply just stressing for no reason at all my family might have money but they are not mean or proud like you see in movies”
  “You said it not me and do you remember the first time we met, you were the most snob of a tall guy I had never met in my life and full of pride and self-cantered”
He flirted with me “Oh and now I’m I still a snob of a tall guy?
  “Oh no now you are my lover tall guy who is turning me on”
I raised his one eyebrow “Is that a hint?”
“You got that right tall guy
He smiled at me shaking his head “Oh I love your naughty talks when you are mad at me it’s sexy” we kissed Luke walked to the stairs climbing while holding me we had couples of stops before reaching the bedroom.

I stood on top the bed looking down at Luke as I unbutton his vest and shirt I kissed him slowly he looked at me with the most exotic sedative eyes I slowly slide the vest and shirt down off his shoulders he lifted me up and made me lay down on the bed he kissed my neck so sweetly and tenderly I turned him over and looked in his eyes I sat up straight and took my T-shirt off I bended and kissed him passionately.

Luke and I were lying on bed having our tender moment I rested my head on Luke’s chest my eyes drifted on  Luke wrist scar I traced it with my thumb finger.
  “I know you had asked me not to ask about this but…”
  “But you gonna keep asking me until I tell you right?”
I looked at him “I just love how you know me so well”
He smiled “So go ahead ask me” Luke whispered
I sighed “What made you do this to yourself?” I rubbed the scar softly
Luke breathed out heavily “Pick a wild guess”
I ported my lips “Mm my wild guess is a SHE!”
  “Nailed it right on point”
I softly knotted my head “What happened?”
He sighed “Well 5 years ago I was starting my company I had been working hard day and night I didn’t have time to date so that it putted my mom under pressure as  I’m the eldest son she deicide to take my single life into her own hands she then set me up with one of  her friends daughter when time went on I fell head over heels in love that one I was standing alone in church full of guests with  no bride to be seen apart from humiliation I managed to drag myself out and went back to the hotel where my AWOL wife to be should have been getting ready when I got there  I found no one but the piece of paper saying (Marriage was never part of the plan) I was devastated, heartbroken, angry and confused where it leaded me to my hotel room drunk out of this world and the next thing I woke up in the hospital with bandage on my wrist the doctors told me that if my dad hadn’t found me sooner I would’ve died” I hugged him tightly “It’s okay it was long time ago and I’m sorry it took me this long to tell you I  was embarrassed to tell you that I almost took myself without even realizing it”
I sat up wearing his shirt I looked at him “You were not in your sense so you can’t blame yourself so harshly, so what happened to her did you ever found out about her?”
  “I did she became a model, you know when you had stopped asking me about my scar I had thought that Shane and Amanda already told you since they know”
I smirked “Yeah they both wanted to tell me but I asked them not too as I wanted to hear it from you when you were ready”
He got up and kissed me “Thank you for being patient about my past failed relationship” when I looked the side drawer near the door I saw a small gift bag
  “What is that?” I asked 
Luke looked where I was looking at “My plan B”
  “Plan B?” I looked back at him
  “Hmm it was my apology gift if you would have gotten angry with at me”
I was shocked “What do you think, that I get angry for you to get me gifts?”
  “Baby no it’s not like that”
  “Explain yourself Mr Mark”
He made naughty smile “Oh you had to call to me that didn’t you now my blood is boiling so does my temperature”
  “No don’t change the subject”
He quickly grabbed me making me lay under him “Babe I need to cool down a bit”
“Hell no” I yelled
“Hell yes baby” He grouted and kissed me
At Luke parent’s house
Jasmine and John they were their bedroom Jasmine was putting lotion in her hands getting ready for bed as John was sitting in bed reading the file
  “There is someone I want Luke to meet over there weekend”
John looked at his wife “Don’t start with that again Luke is a grown man so whatever you are planning stop it”
  “John our son deceive a woman from a prestige well background family”
  “Honey money doesn’t define the person not everything is about money and status Jasmine so please stop it let Luke make his own choices”
Jasmine walked and sat on the bed “John I’m the mother it’s my duty to protect my kids and help them take the path in life”
  “Jasmine keep meddling in our kids love life you will end up as a mother with no kids mark my words for the last time stop whatever you are thinking to do Luke is grown man and don’t  forget about the last time” John switched off the light “Good night”  laid down to sleep

While I was in the kitchen preparing dinner Luke came in stood behind me and putted his head on my shoulder rapping his hands around my stomach
  “Babe your dinner smells divine, what are you making?”
I scoffed “Nothing heavy just a light meal (Rice, stir fry prawns and green salad)”
He kissed me the chick “Anything I can help with?”
  “No I got this thank you baby, you just go and watch TV and relax a bit I’ll serve dinner in a while”
  “Will watch TV later together now I’ll go and make work call in the study in the mean while”
  “Okay” he kissed my neck “Love you” Luke whispered
  “Mm… love you too” I replied
Luke walked out of the kitchen while I continued to cook dinner I had putted some softy R&B music I made some dance moves
When I was done cooking I served food in the plants and poured some red wine for Luke and juicy for myself as I don’t drink alcohol I took our food to the living room set it on the table I went to the study and peeked inside I saw Luke was still busy on his work call I just signed him that the dinner was ready I left and returned to the living room sat on the carpet and switched on the TV and waited for Luke after a short while he came sat next me and started eating our dinner
  “Baby what should we watch?”
  “I don’t know maybe we can watch some series on Netflix”
  “Okay” Luke whispered and browsed through Netflix to find some nice series we can watch Luke took a bite of prawns “Thanks for the dinner babe.” 
I smiled “You are welcome my baby now about this weekend”
  “Babe everything will be fine soon or later you gonna have to meet my family”
I sighed “Luke you I agree but should we do it this weekend I mean it’s your parents anniversary”
  “Exactly I’ll have a partner who is the woman I love and want her by my side I want to show you off”
I smirked “Show me off?”
He drank his wine “Yes I mean I have the most gorgeous, beautiful and sexy woman who is my world and happiness”
  “Such a cheesy line so late at night”
He laughed “Come here” he took my hand and made me sit in his lap he looked into my eyes “It’s not a cheesy line it’s the truth you are my world and happiness Bianca so for this tall handsome guy begging in front of you can you say yes?”
I raised both my eyebrows “Well how can I say no when you being this cute now fine” he made a goofy smile that made him more cute then before.
On the other hand Amanda opened the door at her apartment and found Shane busy cooking in the kitchen she took her shoes off holding her hand and laptop bags
  “Hey honey wait are you cooking?”
Shane smirked “Yeah well you said you would be late tonight so I thought I should try and I did try so don’t judge okay you know me and cooking don’t go hand in hand”
Amanda walked in the kitchen and kissed Shane “Your thought is enough for me” Both smiled at each other Amanda peeked in what Shane was cooking “Pasta you can never go wrong there honey” Shane laughed Amanda hugged him from the side watching Shane cook and stirring and their conversation continued.

The following day I went to Luke’s office thinking we could eat lunch together but the elevator opened I heard Luke shouting somewhere but it didn’t come from his office.
  “Ten people working in one project lost, how is this possible?” Luke shouted “This clearly shows that you guys are not resourceful or reliable in that case you are useless to be part of this team and this company”
Then I saw Emily coming out of conference room she walked up at me smiling and holding dairy
  “Ms I mean Bianca”
I smiled at her “Hey Emily how are you?”
  “I’m good Mr Mark is still in the meeting would you care to wait?”
I raised my eyebrow “Before I answer that from scale of 1 to 10 how is his mood?”
Emily made few facial hesitations “Ah well”
I stared at her “Okay that was a quite few hesitations is it that bad?”
  “Well in short answer his mood is around 9, 99 % so there is 1% chance he won’t bite your head off”
I scoffed “Yeah right nice try in that case I’ll take that 1% chance and get the hell out of here, so here is” I handed Emily the paper bag “Your boss’s food and tell him I’ll call him later” I turned and made my way to the elevator and I couldn’t wait for it to close when I looked at Emily she was amused I waved at her and the elevator doors closed.
Luke walked out of the conference room and headed straight to his office
  “Sir” Emily called out to him but Luke didn’t stop he went to his office and followed him holding the paper bag Luke sat down on his chair Emily walked in “Sir Ms Blue left this for you” she walked towards Luke’s desk
Confused Luke looked at Emily “Bianca was here?”
Emily putted the paper bag on the desk in front of Luke “Yes she left just a while ago”
  “And you didn’t inform me why?” Luke asked
Emily sighed feeling nervous “Well sir she kind off walked in your meeting briefing so she asked me to scale your mood from 1 to 10 where your mood was at I said your mood was about 9, 99% and she said she will take 1% that is left to not ruin her entire day then she handed me that bag and left” Emily held her breath with wide eyes staring at her boss.
Luke stared at her smirking at how nervous and scared she was “Emily you can breathe out now”
Emily breathed out slowly “Thank you sir”
Luke smiled “its okay you can go back to work”
  “Yes sir” Emily turned and walked out of the office and Luke picked up his cell phone on the desk and made a call.
As I was driving my phone rung from the phone holder I saw from the caller ID it was Luke I let it go straight to voicemail when it stopped I listened to the voicemail to check the whether I was in the clear to speak with him.
  “Babe I’m not angry infect my mood is at 0, 00% so can you please pick the phone love you” Luke said on voicemail he called again.
I answered: putting the phone on loud speaker
  “Hello”
I heard him making smirk laugh “Babe relax you didn’t have to run away you know I can never vent my work stress or any stress on you beautiful”
  “Well it had been a while not hearing you so angry and frustrated like you were when I was there anyway did you your food?”
  “Yes I did thank you so where are you now?”
I sighed “Well I’m going to meet up with Amanda I’m on my way to her café so she can help me with something”
  “Something like what?”
I bite my finger “Ah you know work stuff it’s not important babe”
  “But you on leave”
  “Yes I know but work is work it’s nothing big I’ll be done soon I swear”
  “Okay when you are done let me know”
  “Will do okay I have to go I love you”
  “Love you more beautiful bye”
Then I hung up the phone
Luke at his office he looked at his phone “She’s such bad lair” He smiled putting his phone down
