3th POV

"Door slamming and a conflicted conversation is what we've heard from a few students who had overheard the young couple. After the sudden return of the king's former girlfriend, Amelia, there have been going around numerous rumors regarding the possible trouble between the royal couple. Some think the king is still in love with his childhood girlfriend...'

Mal switched off the tv and threw the remote on the lazy chair.

'It's literally only the morning after and it's already everywhere on the news,' Mal sighed.

'What do you expect? You're like- princess Diana,' Evie said.

'I don't hope so, unhappy marriage, mental health issues, hated by the whole in-law family, not to mention the deadly car crash...' Mal said.

'Well, you know what I mean,' Evie said. 'To the outside world it all appears to be a fairy tale, your relationship.'

Mal smiled pittifull. 'If only that was true.'

'It was until she came along,' Evie said.

'It's not her fault,' Mal said. 'I wish it was though.'

'She almost kissed a guy who has a girlfriend and a baby, she's also to blame,' Evie told her.

'She didn't know he had a girlfriend and a baby,' Mal said.

'How can you not know?' Evie asked, astonished.

Mal shrugged her shoulders. 'I don't know, but she was genuinely shocked when she found out.'

Evie shook her head. 'I hope it scared her enough to go back to her parents...'

Mal stood up. 'I wouldn't count on that.'

'Where are you going, breakfast isn't for another fifteen minutes,' Evie said.

'I know, I'm going to see Ben,' she told her while picking up Gianna.

'Of course,' Evie said. 'Well, good luck.'

'Thanks,' Mal said as she walked to the door. 'See ya in a bit.'

When she walked into the dorm, she didn't see Ben.

'Ben?' she asked.

Then she heard something from the bathroom, whereafter the door to the bathroom opened and Ben walked out.

'Hey, where have you been?' Ben asked while walking up to her.

'I crashed at Evie's,' she told him as she sat down. 'Just wanted to be somewhere else.'

'I'm so sorry about last night,' he said. 'It was the stupidest thing I've done in my whole life. And that says something considering the things I've done in the past.'

'Well, I've been thinking about this all night,' she said. 'And I know that I was very mad at you last night, but you know, I can kinda- understand why it happened and why you did what you did.'

'Really, you have every right to be mad at me,' he told her. 'It was not okay what I did. It was so stupid, like- I don't know what came into me.'

'You were just overwhelmed,' she said. 'I get it.'

Ben was surprised by how chill she was after the whole drama last night.

'How can you just get this? I don't even get it myself-' he said.

'Because, I know you wouldn't just pull something like that. Not after everything we've been through the past year,' she told him.

He looked at her. 'What did I do to deserve you, honestly?'
