3th POV
'Mal,' Ben said.
'Yeah?' she asked, trying to calm herself down a bit.
'Will you marry me?' he asked.
Mal stared at him for a few seconds. 'What?'

'Will you-' he began.
'Yes,' she said, not letting him finish.
'Yes?' he asked, a bit surprised.
'Yes,' she repeated.
Ben smiled broadly and hugged her tightly.
'I love you,' he whispered, almost crying.
He looked into her eyes and then kissed her.
'I love you too,' she told him.

'... I said yes,' Mal finished the story.
Evie looked at her with her mouth hanging open.
'You said yes?' she asked.
'I said yes...' Mal said, still overwhelmed.
Jay and Carlos both just looked at her with big eyes.
'You're- you're gonna get married...?' Carlos asked.
'I am getting married,' Mal confirmed.
'To Ben?' Jay asked.
'No, to Chad,' Mal said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
'But then you're gonna be queen,' Jay said.
She nodded. 'I know.'
'And you're sure about this?' Evie asked.
Mal shrugged her shoulders. 'Kinda.'
'What do you mean "kinda"?' Evie asked. 'You're marrying someone, do you realize that?'
'Yes, mom, I do realize that,' Mal said, annoyed.
'He- he almost cheated on you like a week ago and now... you're marrying that guy?' Jay asked her, not liking the news at all.
'Jay, I know you don't like him all that much, but can you please, if not for yourself, for me, get over the past?' Mal asked him.
'M, I really don't wanna team up or something, but he has a point...' Evie said.
'What?' Mal asked.
'He's been screwing things up hard lately, or actually all the fucking time, and now you're just deciding to forget about everything he's done and make this big of a commitment,' Carlos said.
'I'm sorry, since when do you guys know anything about my relationship?' Mal asked, frustrated with her friends.
'We're just trying to help,' Evie told her.
'Help who?' she asked.
'You,' Jay said. 'Realizing that marrying him is a really big deal and something you should really think about.'
'You've known him for just over a year and are already sure that he's the one you want to spend the rest of your life with?' Carlos wondered. 'You're seventeen, Mal. Seventeen.'
'I know my age, Carlos,' she said, upset. 'Age doesn't change our situation, okay. Marrying is the best option right now.'
'Just so you can help him with his work?' Jay asked.
